birdie tea bag book

Several years ago I made one of these tea bag books for the first time and with the release of my Special Blend stamp set, it seemed the perfect opportunity to create another one. It’s still one of my favorite templates. They make a cute little gift and this week I needed a little “thank you” for a friend.

The original template I made can be found here.  After scoring and sponging the cover, I attached patterned paper to each section.

Decorative paper was scored, folded, punched, and adhered to form pockets… then attached to the inside at the spine.  Jumbo eyelets and ribbon were also added to the spine.  Here the pockets were stamped with additional images from Special Blend and tea bags were inserted.

On the left, the roses on the cup were paper pieced with a scrap of patterned paper.

And here’s a close up of the right side.

I hope you enjoy creating a tea bag book of your own!

stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy- Special Blend and Long Stem Silhouettes (for you); paper- Crumb Cake, white, Fancy Pants- Hopscotch; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Tea Dye; accessories- Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, Copics, 1 3/8″ circle punch, jumbo eyelets, Crop-A-Dile, ribbon, Labels 3 Nestabilities, adhesive pearls.

  1. Freaking ADORABLE!!

  2. I think this is gorgeous! I am having a little difficulty with the inside measurements. According to the template I need to cut the dp at 7 5/16 ( 3″ + 1 5/16″ + 3″) but when I score in 3″ from each end, the middle spine is too wide to fit in the cardstock. What might I be doing wrong?

  3. Gorgeous. I love that image, too. I made little gifts like this for a bridal shower for my daughter because we were having a Bridal Tea. These do make great little gifts to have on hand when unexpected guests visit,

  4. Awww Diane! As a tea lover, I think your book is fabulous. What a sweet presentation. TFS

Adorable. I love the sentiments and images. The heart on the tea bag is so cute.
