So, I am 2 days late in sharing a Father’s Day card. But…it could really be used any time of the year for a birthday or any occasion. I was inspired by a card done by Nina Brackett and came up with a water-colored card of my own.
Here I used Master Of The Sea and For My Father. The compass was stamped lightly on the panel underneath and I finished it off with two Black Nuvo Drops.
Have a great evening!

Today I am sharing this card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog using two stamp sets… Outline Alpha and As The Deer (two of my faves!)
This is a 4 1/4″ square card. The letters and hedgehog were colored with Copics. It’s easy, sweet, CAS, and I love it! (I hope you like it too).
Have a great day!

Good morning! There’s some new stamps for June on the Sweet ‘n Sassy website today. If you haven’t seen them yet, go check them out. I used two new sets on these cards… Fantastic Flowers and Kindness Matters.
It’s been a busy week so I went CAS with these cards…sometimes I like those the best! I diecut a rounded rectangle and used it (plus the negative cut) to mask and sponge my frames.
Have a great Friday!

Today I am sharing this card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog using two stamp sets…Mason Jar Bouquet and Fill Me Up.
I needed a card for a friend whose cancer has returned. I wanted to include a couple gift cards so she and her husband could get a good meal or stop for a quick cup of coffee to keep them going on some long trips for treatments. I think these two stamp sets combined pretty well to suit my needs. I hope when she looks at this, she is reminded that lots of people are praying for her.
Here’s a sketch I made if you would like it…
Have a great day!
stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy Mason Jar Bouquet and Fill Me Up; paper- white, black, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Making Memories- Sabrina; ink- Archival Black, SU! Regal Rose; accessories- Square Nestabilities, MM Sabrina button, crochet thread, Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Drops.
Good morning! Today I have a card made with a few Sweet ‘n Sassy sets… Shake it Off Caps, Exclamations, and Pretty Potted Florals.
I sponged the background with a stencil after stamping the sentiment. Then the flowers were stamped and colored. I cut off the stems and pots to just use the flowers. The middle one is popped up. I wrapped a scrap of twine around the card base that was lying to be used, then the layers were popped with foam tape as well.
Have a great day!

Good afternoon! Today I journaled these two pages in my bible. A lot of people have been sharing pages done with pretty paper napkins lately…an old technique that has come around again. It brought back memories of doing the napkins on cards years ago….and I remember even decoupaging napkins onto wicker baskets! Anyone else do that?
I picked up this pack with a pretty floral design in TJ Maxx a few weeks ago. Then I decided that Isaiah 40:8 would be a good page to use them on. The verse reads “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” Our earthly things may be beautiful and good, but they can be gone in a moment. But God will guide us and always be with us. We need to keep Him as our foundation and keep our eyes fixed on what will stand forever.
I used various Sweet ‘n Sassy stamp sets for the words… Rebecca Script, Words of Life- Collection 1 and Common Words 1, God Is Good, Message of Hope. They were stamped with Archival Black.
There’s a bit of a learning curve with the napkin technique in figuring out how much gesso to apply. I just “winged it” as I tend to do, but you may want to practice on something else first if you are unsure. I made sure I had a craft sheet under the page I was working on. I brushed clear gesso on the page with a foam brush but you might like using a regular brush or other applicator tool. Just apply your gesso, adhere your napkin to it, and dry it with a heat tool. Then apply another coat of gesso on top.
- Be careful not to overwork the second coat of gesso or it will tear the napkin away. If you do have small spots that rip away, you can tear off a small scrap of napkin and fill it in if the pattern on your napkin is forgiving. (I patched two small spots here!)
- If you are covering the whole page with a piece of napkin as I did here, I found it helpful to adhere the napkin in two sections. I held it in place where I wanted it, then folded the top half down. While holding it with one hand, I applied gesso to the top with the other hand. Then I laid it back down and smoothed it out and pressed it a bit with an old credit card. Then I folded the bottom up and repeated this on the lower part of the page.
- Keep a paper towel handy to wipe your fingers, brush, or credit card if needed. (The brush may pick up color from the napkin)
- Keep scraps of your napkin ready in case you need to patch tears.
- To highlight the verse: Before I started, I held the napkin in place and used a pencil to draw a box on the napkin around the verse. Then I used my scissors to cut it out. Line it back up on the page and apply your gesso in sections as described above.
I hope this was helpful! Have a great weekend!
Today I am sharing this card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog using two stamp sets… a new set, Master of the Sea, and an older one called Choose Faith.
I kept it pretty CAS and one layer…except the two boats are popped with dimensionals. The words Master and Sea were colored with lighter shades of Copic markers to minimize any bleed-through showing. For the waves, I stamped them with 6 different shades of blues and blue/greens.
On the inside I finished my sentiment and added the anchor image to coordinate with the front.
Have a great day!
stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy Master of the Sea and Choose Faith; paper- white; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Midnight Muse, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, and Pool Party; accessories- Copics, foam dimensionals.
Good morning! Today I have a CAS card with the Sweet ‘n Sassy set, The Future, that was inspired by my friend, Mary Ann Hicks. She had a card kit left over from her shoebox project at a recent gathering she & a few other friends attended and was kind enough to share one of her kits with me.
I took it home to stamp and assemble. The layout is mostly the same…I just changed the sentiment to suit my needs for a card I wanted to mail and I added a few Nuvo drops. I also popped a few of the butterflies (punched from a paint chip) up with foam tape. It has been several years since I used the paint chips so this was a fun project and reminder of an old technique.
Thanks, Mary Ann, for always being so thoughtful and generous!
stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy The Future; paper- white, black; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black; accessories- paint chip, SU! butterfly punch, foam tape, Nuvo drops- Sweet Lilac.
Good morning! This month Sweet ‘n Sassy has released one set for pre-order… the Exclamations Clear Stamp Set from the Creative Worship line.
I used the coffee cup (or hot cocoa would be my choice!) image to make a quick CAS card.
I colored with Copics, then added some Crystal Effects to the drink and spoon.
This layout is great for using up some patterned paper scraps! I figured I would use it again so I drew up a sketch. These are the measurements I came up with for this card and can be used as a guide, but you can make your banners any size you want.
Have fun with it and have a great weekend!
stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy Exclamations Clear Stamp Set; paper- white, Basic Grey- Eva; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black; accessories- Copics, foam tape, 2 1/2″ circle punch, twine, Crystal Effects.
Today I am sharing a card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog using the beautiful Mason Jar Bouquet stamp set from this month’s release.
Sometimes a clean & simple card is just as pretty as one with many layers and embellishments and I really liked how the colors and design of this one turned out. I inked just the center of the Floral Pattern Background stamp with a small Memento dew drop pad and left the edges un-inked. The flower was cut out and popped up with foam dimensionals. Some Stickles in the flower center and a few sequins finished it off.
Have a great day!
