from our home to yours

Hello! Just popping in to wish you a Merry Christmas! I hope your day is blessed and wishes for a great year ahead! Here’s a few more cards to finish out the holiday season. Next year I hope to get back into my old routine of making a few Christmas cards each month. It is such a big help!

Here I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Christmas Cookies, Christmas Pine, and Texture Tiles 3 to make a few CAS cards. For the first one, I turned the cookies into ornaments and hung them from the branches.

Love these cookie images!

The texture images in each texture tiles set are fun and easy to create backgrounds.

Have a Merry Christmas!

joy wood slice

Hello! I have a card to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Wood Backgrounds, Lynzee Script Alpha and Winter Birds stamp sets.

Do you like the wood slice ornaments that are painted? Here I mimicked those by stamping the wood slice image and painting the center black with acrylic paint. I then heat embossed the joy with an alpha set and added a few berries and leaves. This gives the look of the wood ornaments without the bulky slice (and makes it mailable!).

Have a great day!

Crumb Cake, doodlebug- Home for the Holidays; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa, Versamark, SU! Crumb Cake; accessories- WOW white pearl embossing powder, rhinestones, black acrylic paint, foam brush, Copics, baker’s twine.

doves of peace

Good morning! I have 2 cards to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Doves of Peace stamp set. I also used Texture Tiles 3 and Thrill of Hope.

I thought the texture stamp on the first card would be a perfect background to mimic the water used in baptism.

The second card is a CAS Christmas card because we all need a little “quick & easy” during the holidays! Here I simply heat embossed the images in white and added a silver strip to the left.

Have a great day!

stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy Doves of Peace, Texture Tiles 3 and Thrill of Hope; paper- white, black, navy, silver, SU! Baja Breeze; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, SU! Baja Breeze and Sweet Sugarplum; accessories- white embossing powder, rhinestones, pearls, Clear Wink of Stella.

Truckin’ Through the Seasons notepad tin

Quite a few years ago these tins were popular to decorate and place a Staples note pad inside. They are approx. 5×7 and I still have a stack of them in my basement…anyone else? lol. I recently needed to make a small gift and I couldn’t find what I needed for the project I had planned…so I looked around for another idea and found these tins.

I decided to create it as a Christmas notepad tin and I immediately knew I wanted to use the cute truck die! It’s the Spellbinders October 2018 Large Die of the Month- Truckin’ Through the Seasons die set. And it’s awesome! I also wanted to pair it with the buffalo plaid that is so popular right now. This one is Concord & 9th Plaid Background. The sentiment is from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Home for the Holidays set. I added some Crystal Effects to the window and embossed the trees with a Buffalo Plaid embossing folder!

Inside the tin I added a pocket on the left (which I inserted a little die to add with the gift) and above it I attached the December calendar with removable tape (so it can be switched out).

The little truck is so cute, it will be fun to use in other seasons too!

Have a great day!

Oh snap!

Good morning! How are we already a week into December? Yikes! I have 2 cards to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Christmas Cookies and Sunshine Girl Alpha sets and the December Stamp of the Month: Wood Backgrounds set.

This wood slice background is a lot of fun! I already made 2 cards and have a few other ideas to try. Here I simply paired it with 2 images from Christmas Cookies. I used a white pen to “decorate” them.

For my second card with the cookies, I stamped and colored the gingerbread man, then cut him out. I cut pieces off his arm and leg and glued some bits beside him. The sentiment uses Sunshine Girl Alpha.

6×6 German Apple Puff Pancakes

Back in the beginning of October I filled in to teach a class on making a 6×6 recipe card. Over the summer we stayed at a B&B in Amish country and were treated to some delicious breakfasts. One was some peach puff pancakes. The B&Bs in the area put out a few cookbooks and I purchased the current one. It didn’t have the peach version but this delicious apple one with craisins and pecans. We love it!

I decided to use the cute apple paper but didn’t want to cover it all up so I made a triangular pocket with it to tuck the recipe inside. I stamped the Concord & 9th plaid background with black ink onto red cardstock and die cut the letters with Altenew’s Bold Alphabet. I also used a tiny apple die from my stash to cut from the plaid. To finish it off, I added the cute SNSS An Apple For Cocoa digital image and a few black enamel dots.

Have a great day!

winter wonderland

Good morning! Today is the last day of the Sweet ‘n Sassy sales for their 11th anniversary celebration. Be sure to check out the final special…

I have 2 cards to share today using the SNSS Winter Wonderland set. This set is so versatile with a ton of possibilities! I first used a snowflake patterned paper for the background, then stamped the tiny tree in the hand of the snowman.

Next, I used the snow globe and placed the church inside. This one has bright, fun colors. Both cards have some Stickles added to sparkle.

lift your voice

Hello! Sweet ‘n Sassy continues to celebrate their 11th anniversary all month long. There’s only a few days left so check out the site for their current specials. I have 2 cards today using one of the sets designed for their Creative Worship line. Here I used Women of Praise.

I found a few pieces of glossy cardstock that I had done the Smackin’ Acetate technique on many years ago. They worked great to stamp the silhouettes on. The word “and” here isn’t in the set. If you look closely, I turned the word “up” upside down and then added the “d”.

For the second card, I omitted the “p” in praise to make the word “raise”.

In The Meadow ATC Coin

Good morning! Today I have a little different project using some Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps. But before I get to it, remember to check out the current SNSS special for the November birthday release!

You may be familiar with the ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) which are 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ but a fun new trend is to make ATC Coins which are 2 1/2″ circles. Here’s my first one that I created for a swap.

I started by designing some word art in Photoshop and I incorporated my Snowman With Skates digital image. After printing them out, I punched them with a 2 1/2″ circle punch. Then I applied some masking fluid to the snowman to resist the Jane Davenport watercolors I added after the masking fluid was dry. The masking fluid was then carefully rubbed off. I used stamps from Thrill of Hope and Texture Tiles 1 with 2 shades of blue ink. The snowman was colored with Copics and some Wink of Stella made him sparkle.

If you haven’t tried the ATC Coins yet, they are a lot of fun!

Hello! I have two more cards today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Cocoa’s Cups set. Don’t forget about the SNSS specials this month to go along with the November birthday release! Tonight is the last chance to take advantage of the Black Friday special!

I love this image of Cocoa Mouse in the holiday cup. So sweet!
