live for today

I love this woman!  There’s so many sentiments that go great with her!  This is Mo Manning’s Mummu…living life to the fullest!

I colored Mummu with Promarkers.  The sentiment on the tag inside the pocket says “capture this moment in your heart”.

and here’s the inside…

Have a great weekend!

challenge week

It’s Dare To Get Dirty week!  Have you checked out the challenges on Splitcoast yet?  There will be a whole week of challenges for the Fan Club members, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, click here…

You can check out the challenge info here.  We had some computer problems…our modem went bad…so I’m a bit late getting my blog post up.  But you still have plenty of time to play along with the first day’s challenges!  I was a sample maker for JeanneS’ challenge and here’s my card…

I colored with Promarkers and added some puffy snow with the Marvy Puffy Velvet marker.

Hope you can play along!

another Safmat project

Have you seen the new Autumn Winter Collections released by Stampavie?  ♥ them!  There are so many sweet images that it was hard to choose what to work with first!  This one really caught my eye…I think it’s the endearing look in the reindeer’s face.  I also decided to pull out my Safmat and create a candy jar to match my card.

First, here’s a close up of the card.   The image is by Tina Wenke and it’s called Santa With Lamb and Reindeer.  The sentiment is from another Tina Wenke set called Holiday Wishes.

I bought the jar from my friend, Tracy, and I didn’t really have any ideas at the time what I wanted to do with it.  So I’m happy to have used it.

After I colored my image, I scanned it to my computer and enlarged it a bit.  When you have your image to the size you need, just print it out onto a sheet of Safmat.  (Be sure to print it on the correct side…don’t ask me how I know.  LOL)  Then you just cut your image out and apply it to your project (like a big sticker!).

TIP: I used a craft knife and metal ruler to lightly cut the transparent film without cutting through the paper backing.  This way I could remove my printed piece and still have a whole sheet of backing to feed through the printer again for another project.

Here’s the candy jar filled with yummy Christmas mints…

Normally the “background” would be more clear but when I scanned my image, my background wasn’t perfectly white.  It would have taken more patience than I had to remove the background around all those snowflakes, etc.  LOL.  So I left it as it was.  BUT I’m glad I did because it makes the glass look etched IRL…kinda cool, actually!

Here’s a better shot of the lid…the metal snowflake and jingle bell were from my friend Michele.  I didn’t use them on the project she gave them to me for but I don’t think she’ll mind.  🙂

Fairy Lee candle tin

Yesterday I posted one of my Stampavie Creations newsletter projects so today I thought I’d share the other one.  This issue was packed with lots of great samples (including a cake!) so if you haven’t seen it, be sure to check it out here…it’s free!

I used the Mo Manning Birthday Fairy Lee image and a recycled gift card tin to make a container to hold all the loose candles that were in my cupboard.

The candles were sketched with a Micron pen, colored and cut out.  Here’s another pic to see the dimension on the popped up pieces.

Have a great day!

Summer Ballerina

Hope you had a great weekend (despite the heat!).  I have a few projects to share but some I haven’t taken pics of yet.  I do have a card with Tina Wenke’s Summer Ballerina though…she’s so sweet.  This was created for the Stampavie Creations newsletter.  If you don’t receive it, be sure to sign up here…it’s free!

I wanted to put her up on stage so I sketched in some floorboards, sponged on a backdrop, and added some ribbon curtains.

A close up view…the background was created by sponging pastels over a punched out wave border and also a punched cupcake top (to make the clouds).  The crab is from a Cuttlebug die.  He was colored with markers and I gave him some wiggly eyes.

And a side view so you can see the dimension…

I have to say that this is one of my favorite projects so far and I hope it inspires you to create a fun scene too!

Stampavie Creations is online!

Hey everyone…the new edition of the Stampavie Creations magazine is now online and FREE to download!  Go check it out here!

too, too cute in tutu!

hello!  I have a 6×6 card today with Tina Wenke’s image called TuTu Cute (which is seriously too, too cute!)

I colored the image with Promarkers while I was at CHA.  Usually I like to choose my papers first and match my markers to them but I was happy to see that the My Mind’s Eye Gertie pad matched perfectly.  I love the papers in it and have pulled it out to use several times lately!

I also had a little stack of Martha Stewart seam binding laying to be used and it was a good match too.  I wanted to ruffle the ribbons to go with her skirt and I think it turned out kinda cute.  🙂   The image is popped up on dimensionals to accomodate the thickness of the ribbon.

Here’s a close up of the main image…

Thanks for stopping by…have great weekend!

stamps- Tina Wenke TuTu Cute by Stampavie, sentiment by Studio g (from the Michael’s $1 bin); paper- SU! textured Banana, brown, Claire Fontaine white, My Mind’s Eye Stella and Rose- Gertie; ink- Memento Black, Versamark, Marvy brown LePen; accessories- corner rounder, Promarkers, Martha Stewart seam binding, SU! sent from above

Happy Wednesday!  Today I have a little baby gift bag that I decorated with the sweet Tina Wenke image called Sent From Above

It is so easy to turn a plain gift bag into something special with your stamps and papers.  Here I used various dies and some doodling to make it unique.

The image was colored with Promarkers and then I added some clouds in the background with pastels (chalks).  I used the top of the SU! cupcake punch as a cloud template.  The pictures don’t show it, but I added some Crystal Effects to the shine on the balloon and the baby’s bottle to create a glossy 3D accent.

Here’s a close up…

If you haven’t decorated a gift bag yet, you should give it a try!  I’m sure the recipient would love it!  :0)

blog candy time!

Hello friends!  In celebration of the spring weather that finally arrived the past week or so I have two awesome Stampavie stamps to give away!

We’ve been busy getting some flowers planted, so I thought I give away Sarah Kay’s Spring is Back image…

Spring is back

PLUS…this beautiful weather has everyone thinking of vacation so how about Leere Aldrich’s Going Places…

Going Places

I’m trying something new (to me!).  All you need to do to enter is click on the blue frog below and add your name & e-mail.  Good luck!

doodlin’ with Kiki

I need to apologize for the pics of this card.  Our main computer crashed and I had to use a different camera with my laptop so they aren’t the best quality.  Let’s hear a big *ugh* for computer problems.

I have been so inspired lately by Janna’s doodling on her projects!  I have always loved to doodle but I am not very good at it so it’s still a bit out of my comfort zone.  Usually you will only see me doodle a little around my main image but I am hoping to break out a little more.  I bought a few books for inspiration so…we’ll see!

I started with Mo Manning’s Fairy Kiki which I colored with Promarkers a few months ago.  Lots of doodles were added with a Micron pen and a white gel pen.  The letters were cut with a Cuttlebug alphabet.

Here’s a close up of Kiki…I tried out my new Heart Circles Nesties….♥ ♥ ♥ !

I hope you give doodling with your images a try!  It’s a lot of fun.  Be sure to check out the Stampavie blog today….Janna has a fabulous project to share and her doodling is FAR better than mine.  LOL.

Have a great day!
