Coffee….blech!  Don’t like it…at all.  I will not pour it in a mug.  I think I’d rather eat a bug.  (well…maybe not)  I will not brew it here or there.  I will not drink it anywhere!

But…..I will get crafty and make a little coffee treat for a sweet friend.  ;^)

I mean…seriously…who could resist this cute Coffee Mouse?

This is my second project as I guest design for Inky Antics this month.  I wanted to make something 3-D with this coffee set and I found this purchased gable box in my stash.  It was the perfect size to fit 2 Keurig K-Cup pods inside!

I thought decorating the outside with the Inky Antics Honeycomb papers would be a fun change from the normal placement on the inside of a card.  (Those Honeycomb papers are fun to create with and they are on sale this month!)

Note: The ribbons are only tied to the front flap so they won’t need to be untied when opening the box.

Coredinations K-cup Caddy

Last week the Scor-Pal team hopped with Coredinations and today I can share my projects that were featured.

I made a holder for Keurig pods and a matching 3×3 notecard and envelope.

Using the Scor-Pal and Core Impressions paper (Pink Paislee- Modern Prints Collection), I put together 2 Keurig K-cup Caddies following the directions here.  First the paper was sanded to reveal the color core.  Then I attached the finished caddies back to back with some Scor-Tape to hold 4 Keurig pods.  Here’s the front side…

I also made a matching 3×3 notecard with some scraps that were left over.  A coordinating envelope was created using the Scor-Pal and Scor-Envi, following the measurements printed right on the Envi tool.  How handy is that?!

These would make a perfect little gift for a coworker or friend.  I hope you have fun making them yourself!

a K-cup treat

Do you love your Keurig and Tassimo? ♥ Do your friends and family love theirs too? Today Virginia and I from the Scor-Pal team have the perfect summertime gift for you to create for those you care about. How about a unique box filled with iced teas, coffees, etc?

On my recent trip to the stamp store in Buffalo, NY I bought this cute little Nellie Snellen fairy and I was anxious to ink her up so she landed quite nicely on my project.  😉   Isn’t she sweet?

Inside the box I chose to put some Keurig K-cup iced tea pods for a perfect summertime treat.

Here’s some simple directions to get you started.  Virgina created the original box and I made an adjustment or two. 

1) For the box, start with a 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 inch square and place onto your Scor-pal. Score each side at 1 3/4 inches.
2) Fold along score lines. Choose two opposite sides and cut from the outside edge to the corner point where the score lines meet. Use scor-tape adhesive on the flaps and fold in to form the box.
3) To make the lid with a window in the middle, start with a 9 5/16 x 9 5/16 inch square. Repeat Step 1 and 2 but do not adhere the corner flaps until you create the window. To make the window, take a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 square cardstock and center on the lid and trace with a pencil. Use scissors or a craft knife to cut out the square window. Do not worry that your cutting has to be perfect because you can use a border strip to cover the outside window edges.
4) Cut a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of acetate and put thin Scor-tape along the edges and adhere acetate over the open square. Fold in the corner flaps to create the lid.
5) You have just created a window box to fit 9 K-cups snugly and now you can have fun embellishing!

Scor-Pal hops with American Crafts!

For today I used the ADORABLE Garden Cafe line of paper and some coordinating accessories to create an apron card (Anna Wight’s template) and a matching little teacup with a Keurig tea pod (K-cup) inside.

On the pocket of the apron card, I scored some diagonal lines in both directions and then sponged over them to highlight the embossing.  The pocket was attached with Scor-Tape.  I added American Crafts buttons and a coordinating dimensional sticker.

To make the teacup, I followed the directions for the coffee cup, except I made it shorter in height.  I started with a 9 x 3 1/2″ strip instead of 9 x 4 1/2″.  The handle was made with circle punches and I inserted the ends in the side seam instead of attaching them to the outside.  The Scor-Pal and Scor-Tape are AWESOME for projects like this!

To decorate the teacup a bit, I used my initial from the American Crafts Thickers (glitter foam stickers).  I also placed a little flower from the Accents & Phrases Sticker Book onto a scrap of the paper, cut it out, and inserted a medium jewel brad before attaching it to the cup.

Here I removed the Keurig pod so you can see the cute dotted design on the inside.  The tag on the Keurig pod is also from American Crafts.  I altered it a bit with a thin strip of the Garden Cafe paper and punched the bottom edge.  The “doily” underneath  the cup is a diecut.

I had a lot of fun creating this…I hope you enjoyed it too!  I have to say…the American Crafts paper is a nice thickness…not flimsy at all…and was perfect to use for my projects!  The accessories are delightful too!  ♥  They make a great combination with the Scor-Pal products!

Happy New Year’s Eve!

I hope 2011 was good to you and I wish for you all to have a great 2012!

A few days ago I said I had one last Christmas project to share…but I forgot about one.  So here’s the last one I have…promise!  LOL.

I followed Virginia’s directions on the Scor-Pal blog to make a quick K-Cup (Keurig) Window Box…

It was super easy with the Bo Bunny papers and embellishments.  I punched a half circle on either side for ease in removing the lid.  And I cut around the doves with a craft knife before attaching the acetate window to the lid.

The box and lid each start with a 9 1/4″ square.  Next time I make it, though, I will make the lid 1/16″ larger to give a little room.  Then score all sides at 1 3/4″.  Cut and fold sides as you would with a basic box design.

Christmas tea and cookies

I can’t believe Christmas will soon be here already!  Have you started your holiday shopping?  Or are you already done?  (envious if you are!)

This week the Scor-pal Designers are excited to be sharing some last minute gift ideas using product from our friends at Jillibean Soup.

Because, after all, when you are making special gifts you want them to stay together and you want the best ;^)

Of course, be sure and stop by the Jillibean Soup Blog  too because they are playing along with Scor-pal this week as well! 

Today I have a last minute gift idea to share for those occasions when time creeps up on you and you need a “little something” to give a friend, neighbor, or co-worker. 

I used the cute line of Jillibean Soup papers called Christmas Eve Chowder (*love these papers*) to create a little Coffee Cup and a matching Cookie Box. 

Inside the Coffee Cup is a cello wrapped Keurig tea pod and a few mints.  The cup could also be altered a bit to make it slightly taller, thus it could hold 2 stacked Keurig pods…just a thought…hmmm.  Maybe next time.  🙂

The top of the Cookie Box was decorated with additional paper and matching cardstock stickers.  The directions show how to slip the tab on the lid inside the box, and tie a ribbon closure.  But I chose to keep the tab to the outside and punch a decorative snowflake border.  Two tiny pieces of velcro  under the tab help to keep the lid closed.

The little fella in green had a ball on top of his hat…it was the perfect size to add a half pearl.  I also added some Stickles here and there to make them sparkle.

I cut some trees from scraps of paper to add to the ends of the box.  A cardstock sticker was added too.  Not too busy…but just enough.

My cookies turned out larger than I planned, but who’s complaining?  LOL.  I just turned them and slipped them into the box facing the front.  A piece of tissue paper makes a nice lining.

And here’s a discovery I’ve made…if you don’t want to give cookies (what?  no cookies?) then a row of tea bags fits perfectly!
