hey there, long horn!

Hello friends!

It’s week two of the current Ai Challenge, “Southern Style”. We are featuring the NEW Texas collection and I’ve used the Long Horn Set (4686) on my card today!

I wanted the sentiment included in this set to go on the inside of my card so I made a simple “Hey!” with my Dymo Labelmaker for the front. Then I chose the wood grain and herringbone papers for a masculine look. I carried some of the same papers to the inside…

Hello friends!

It’s week two of the current Ai Challenge, “Anything Goes”. This week I am sharing another watercolor card I made with two of Ai’s watercolor sets… EZ Project A (4271) and Blooming Birdhouse (4603). I also used the cute little elephant from Elephant & Pig Set (4505).

I had an extra diecut tag left over from this watercolor project for the last challenge, so I turned it upright and used it in a different layout.

I thought it would be cute to have the little elephant peeking over the watercolor gate. 🙂

it’s exhausting

Hello friends!

The Challenge Chicks took a bit of a break but we are back and a few more chicks will be joining us either this month or next! We are also moving to the SECOND Sunday of each month. We’re a small group of friends who post a new challenge each month…no stress, no deadlines…just for fun. And we’d love to have you join us! Are you ready for another Challenge Chicks Challenge? This month I am hosting and my challenge is Circles of Friendship (use circles OR friendship OR both!).

What would we do without friends? I mean really..good..friends. Some friends are there for us in good times and bad…and these two gals sure are enjoying the good! For the card I am sharing today I took the phrase “circle of friendship” a bit literally…with circles as the basis for my friendship card.

I used the Ai Laughing Set (4385). I love these two ladies…they make me smile! They also bring back funny memories of silly times. A few of my friends went to a scrapbooking convention this past week and as I type this, I can’t wait to hear the stories they will have to tell when they get back! (We call our group “The Gigglers”…ha!)

Snack Size Hershey’s Pouch

Hello friends!

The current Ai Challenge is “In With The New” (use your newest stamp) and I am sharing a project I made with one of the NEW Ai stamps in your local AC Moore store called Bigger Cake (PS0920). This lady’s smile is infectious…and don’t you love that cake??

Instead of a card I made a little Snack Size Hershey’s Pouch. How fun would this be to give to a friend? It’s super easy to make…let’s get started!

First, start with a 3 1/2 x 7 5/8 inch piece of cardstock. Score the length @ 1/2, 3 3/4, and 4 inches. Then cut or punch an opening (on the end with the first 1/2″ score mark) to slip the candy in when finished. (I kept my opening to the left but you can center it.) See photo below.

Add patterned papers or emboss… however you want to decorate it.

Fold and adhere the 1/2″ scored section at the top with strong tape. Add your image and sentiment. I colored her with Copics and fussy cut her out. To finish, I added a tiny bow.

Slip in some chocolate, a pack of gum, or whatever fits!

celebrate red, white, and blue!

Good morning! The current Art Impressions challenge is all about color. Check out the Ai Red, White, and Blue Challenge!

I used a new image (it’s a wood mount!) exclusive to the AC Moore store called Celebrate (PS0919).

Her dress was paper pieced with a red/white/blue patterned paper from the Pebbles Americana collection. A few other papers from this pack were added to the background and banner. I used a Tiny Stars embossing folder from The Paper Studio to add some dimension to the white.

What a fun image! She is supposed to be for a birthday but works great for a patriotic card as well!

Good morning! Art Impressions has a new challenge starting today and this one is all about the guys in our lives! Check out the Ai For The Fellas Challenge.

For my card, I used the Sports Fan Shaker (4527) and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from Out To Lunch (3576).

This guy is just too cute! ♥

I love, love, love the Ai Action Wobbles! Cards that shake and move are so fun! This guy’s “hand” is raised up on a wobbly spring so it moves!

Ai Love Spinner

Good morning! I have a fun card to share (and a quick video). I love interactive cards so I am excited today about the Art impressions new Spinners Launch! They are ALL so cute and immediately went onto my wish list. Is this not the cutest couple?

I used Love Spinner (4571) and the coordinating Love Spinner Dies (4613) on my card. The front is CAS (clean & simple)…

but this card is all about what’s inside…

The front & back images have diecuts that match up perfectly with each other to make putting them back to back a SNAP! Just adhere them on a string and they SPIN… cool! I made a Pop Out Window Suspension Card to hang them in.

Quilting Sisters

Art Impressions is releasing some new Girlfriends stamp sets today…yay! The Girlfriends is one of my favorite lines they have! Today also starts a new challenge on the Ai blog… Lovely Ladies.

I have used the new Quilt Set (4544) to make my card. I know a few quilters that this set would be perfect for!

These girlfriends sure look like they are having fun!

I also brought part of the image to the inside…

What a fun set…I hope you like it as much as I do!

blooming birdhouse

Today there’s a new release at Art Impressions of some Watercolor Minis stamp sets! I am using the new Blooming Birdhouse set (4603) for my card and the sentiment is from the Beach TryFolds set (4577).

I haven’t done a watercolor look for a long time so this was a fun card to create. I really need to start the watercolor class I signed up for. lol.

The birdhouse was stamped with Stazon Black ink and then watercolored. The flowers and foliage were colored directly on the rubber with markers. After stamping, a fine waterbrush was used over the images.

Big Mouth Gator

Have you seen the latest Art Impressions release? The Big Mouths are a fun way to create interactive cards! Check them out in the current AI Challenge- Make Me Smile.

I used the Gator Big Mouth set for my card today. The word “pull” on the tab is a clear sticker I made with a label maker.

When the tab is pulled, his mouth opens to reveal his lunch. lol.

Here’s the inside of my card with the rest of the sentiment stamp.

I was trying to carefully line up the die on the Gator’s mouth when I remembered a cool trick someone shared for die cutting stamped images. This made it so much easier to cut so I took a few pics along the way.

I hope that makes it easy for you! These Big Mouth cards are so much fun!
