you make a difference

…you really do! 🙂 Hello! I have a card to share today for the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps October release. It’s a great release! Here I used the new foliage and sentiment stamp sets to make a masculine fall card.

Product links: Foliage Silhouettes (also available in a Bundle with Dies), Happy Everything Sentiment Strips.

I used a simple layout for this CAS card. After stamping the leaves, the main panel was scored with my Scor-Pal and layered onto a kraft piece, then the poppy red card base. I added a simple linen thread bow and popped up the sentiment.

The leaves are beginning to turn here. I hope you are able to enjoy them as well! Have a great day!

New Horizons

Hello! Back in the spring I made several cards with the beautiful SU! New Horizons papers. I was thrilled to win a pack of these papers… they’re great for making quick & easy cards! Here are the designs I did at that time. I need to make some more soon. 🙂

Stamp sets used: Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Be Encouraged and Be Encouraged 2; SU! Oceanfront, My Meadow, Let’s Set Sail, High Tide, Waterfront, Snowfront, On The Horizon, and Grassy Grove.

Have a great day!

giving thanks

Good morning! Today I am featuring another one of the new coordinating die sets from this month’s Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps release, Give Thanks Dies. This stamp set is a previously released one so you may purchase the dies separately, if you have the stamps, or both together in a bundle. I also used Falling Leaves (the September Product of the Month) and Cheerful Hexies.

Product links: Give Thanks Dies, Give Thanks Bundle, Falling Leaves, Cheerful Hexies.

I started today’s cards by making a fall card without autumn colors. I really liked the blue falling leaves background that I stamped and decided to “paint” the die cut leaves with other fun colors too. Various inks were dabbed onto my table (it’s an old table!) one at a time and spritzed with water. Then I picked the inks up by smooshing a piece of watercolor paper onto them. Let it dry between colors. When completely dry, I stamped and die cut the leaves.

I had a few leftover leaves that I saved and wasn’t sure what I would do with them…until I needed an anniversary card! Here I Die cut a square from the white panel, then embossed the square in a woodgrain embossing folder. I then stamped yellow leaves onto the white panel and popped it up onto a card front with foam tape. The embossed square was glued back into place and two leftover die cut leaves were popped up on top.

I have a third card today…for this one I created a background by stamping the Cheerful Hexies first, then the leaves over top with black ink. The photo makes it look a bit busy, but it looks really cool in person!

Be sure to check back tomorrow as SNSS will feature other new products for the second half of the month. 😉

bold caps monograms

I have one more project this month using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Bold Caps Alpha Dies. This time I wanted to make some monogram note cards. These are not often seen in paper crafting these days, but they are classic and fun! I would love to see them trending with a come-back.

Product links: Bold Caps Alpha Dies, Decorative Frames Dies, and Scribble Flowers Bundle (also sold separately).

I thought the bold alpha needed a bold pattern and colors. I also paired it with the Decorative Frames Dies and Scribble Flowers Bundle.

The paper has some pretty gold foiling…

Give some monograms a try! Have a great day!

sending love

Hello! I have a CAS, quick card to share today. I am really loving the new alpha die set from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps August release. So many possibilities! This card could be a valentine or used any other time of year to send some love and care.

Product links: Bold Caps Alpha Dies, Love Wordfetti.

My background is a piece of patterned paper, but you can easily stamp your own florals. The shiny gold paper was a piece that I saved from the lining of a fancy envelope. It was the perfect size strip for die cutting a few letters. I added a tiny sentiment from the Love Wordfetti set and a few rhinestone accents.

Have a great day!

heartfelt hellos

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards with a fun technique, using some Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. I tried the Split Sentiment Technique, where you ink through a reverse masked shape which also has a masked area for a sentiment.

Product links: Song Birds, Garden Whimsy, Script Sentiments, Mason Jar Bouquet.

The technique was done with an oval shape, but I thought it would be fun to try a heart with an old set of Spellbinders heart dies. First, I made some anniversary cards, and then some simple hellos. The colors of ink used are SU! Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder.

These are great CAS, no-layer cards. Try them! Have a great day!

special blooms

Good morning! Today I am sharing some cards using a new stamp & die set from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps June release. Floral images are always a favorite of mine, so I was eager to use this new set. If you’re a coffee lover, you’ll be happy to see that one image has a mug as well!

Product links: Special Blooms Stamp & Die Bundle (also sold separately).

I sort-of followed Julee’s sketch for my first card but I added the potted plant, so I shifted the layers a bit. Both of the flowers are popped with foam tape, and I went a bit old-school with some faux stitching (I miss that!).

I wanted my second card to be more CAS and I wanted to add some of the flowers in black & white. After getting my images on the card, I wasn’t quite sure where to put the sentiment, but I think it worked out. 🙂

Have a great day!

strike up some fun

Hello! Today I’m sharing two cards using products from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps May release. Do you know someone who likes to go bowling? Or maybe your kids get invited to bowling birthday parties? Maybe you are just looking to make a fun card? Most of us have bowled at least once in our life and this card would bring back fun memories.

Product links: Masculine Mash-UpShiplap Background, Boss Lady Alpha Dies, Bold Birthdays, Birthday Wordfetti.

I stamped the bowling image on the background of the front of the card, then added a square layer with a popped-up balloon. But…my favorite part is the inside.

I used the Shiplap Background to make the bowling lane and the alpha dies for my sentiment.

I stamped and fussy cut the ball and pins, then added them to a simple pop-up feature. To make the pop-up, I used a 1″ x 4 1/4″ strip and scored it at every inch (1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″). Then simply fold and glue the 1/4″ tab to make a square. Glue one side to the inside bottom, then add adhesive and “close” the top of the card to adhere the pop up to the card front.

I had some diecut letters left over and another fun sentiment in mind, so I made another card. This one is a CAS Mini Slim card so that I could fit all the letters across the bottom. This one is 3 1/2″ x 6 1/4″. The ball and two pins were stamped again and popped-up. I stamped the “you’re” word from the Be Unique set.

Have a great day!

trust in the Lord

Good morning! Today I am sharing some cards using products from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps May release, along with some older favorites. I kept the backgrounds plain or light in color on the cards today so that the images and words would stand out.

Product links: Mixed Up Stencil, Faith Wordfetti, Too, Botanical Branches Bundle, Shiplap Background, To-Do List, Scribble Flowers Bundle (Bundles also sold separately).

For my first card, I lightly sponged a faint blue in the center. Part of the stencil was masked off and then sponged with blue and green inks. A small sentiment was added above in black. The branch was colored, die cut, and popped up with dimensionals.

I made a few of these cards and when I was done, I noticed a smudge of ink on the edge of one, so I die cut the card front and layered it onto a new base. Now I’m not sure which version I like better!

The Shiplap Background was stamped with a light gray ink on the second card. Then I added some words from the new To-Do List set and some favorite flowers (and that sweet bee!).

Have a great day!

roses for you

Good morning! I’m sharing a quick & easy set of cards today using stamps from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps April release. Sometimes I like to show how images can be used without coloring them in, so this set of cards is another example. (Next week I’ll share a card with the same image, colored).

Product links: Roses For You Bundle, stamps and dies are also sold separately.

I started this CAS set of cards with four A2 size white card bases. Then I cut 4 pieces of cardstock in various colors to 3″ squares. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I was able to stamp all four colors with the image being in the exact same place. Then each square was cut into quarters (cut @ 1 1/2″, turn and cut again). The pieces were shuffled so each card base has one of each color that realigns to complete the image. You could tape them together on the back before adhering to the card, but I chose to leave about 1/16″ space between them.

After the pieces were glued down, I added the sentiment. Again, a Misti tool makes it quick and easy for perfect placement.

Have a great day!
