texture tiles 11

Hello! Just popping in with 2 quick cards using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps set Texture Tiles 11. I’ve also used Garden Whimsy and Happy Day.

For the first card, I inked the stamp with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers. I then misted it lightly with water and stamped onto Distress Kraft Heavystock paper. I started with a 4 x 4 3/4 piece of Kraft Heavystock. As long as you make 4 cuts in whatever widths you choose, it should space out on the card evenly. My cut panels are 3/4″, 1 1/4″, 1/2″, 1 1/4″ and 1″.

On my second card, I stamped the flowers to make a simple black & white background. The flower and butterfly were stamped and cut from colored cardstock. The word was heat embossed with white powder but could also be simply stamped in black instead.

Have a great day!

blue crocs and rainbow socks

Good morning! It’s the beginning of the month, which means there’s a great new release at SNSS! Today I am sharing two cards using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps sets called Gnome-one Like You and Texture Tiles 11. For my first card, I used the gnome watering a flower. How cute are those Crocs? I figured he needed equally cute socks to go with them. I blended some inks around the edges of the card and then stamped some flowers over top.

For my second card, I die cut a partial circle from some cute paper to accent the sitting gnome and pulled from the colors to color the image. I also stamped the sentiment in a matching color instead of my usual black. lol.

Have a great day!

50th anniversary

Recently a local couple celebrated their 50th anniversary…what an accomplishment! With the pandemic, they weren’t able to celebrate with friends so a surprise card shower was organized for them. Here’s the card I sent. I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Rose Banner set and the awesome Number Dies which were recently brought out of retirement! I love those dies and isn’t this stamp set a pretty one?

I kept the card monochromatic and embossed the image in gold, then die cut accessories in gold and white. It’s difficult to see the white embossed background.

Have a great day!

be a rainbow

Hello! I have a couple of CAS projects today using this month’s Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps release. I used the Good Morning and Texture Tiles 10 sets on the first two. I also used Alleluia Lilies on the rooster card. Texture Tiles 10 and Made New with matching Dies were used on the Memory-dex card.

I kept the CAS cards to 2 colors each. The words on the first one were stamped on the right and accented with rhinestones. The rooster on the second card was popped with dimensionals. I added some lines and dots with a black pen.

My third project is a Memory-dex card. The sentiment was printed with my computer…I just love this quote! I made a rainbow of ink with the rainbow stamp and the butterfly is attached in the body so it’s wings can pop up.

Have a great day!

Alleluia

Hello! Yesterday I posted a few cards with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Alleluia Lilies and Alleluia Lilies Dies for the blog hop. If you missed the hop, be sure to check it out. Today I have another card with this pretty set. When I was creating with it, something reminded me of the old Faux Cloisonne Technique I learned many years ago and I set out to try it again. The original technique was to heat emboss the image with gold powder on glossy magazine pages and layer it onto black cardstock. Well, I couldn’t find a magazine page that I liked so I used patterned paper. Then I decided to add some layers on the black…so in the end, it ended up a variation of the technique but I still liked the results. 🙂

To try the FAUX CLOISONNE TECHNIQUE: gather some colorful, glossy magazine pages.  Stamp a detailed image with Versamark ink on both the black cardstock and the magazine pages.  Heat emboss with gold embossing powder.  Cut out portions of the image on the magazine pages and adhere on top of the image on the black cardstock.

I added a layer of gold paper to accent the gold embossing and some black rhinestones to match the card base. The word was embossed in black. It’s fun to revisit old techniques as well as learn something new. Whether you’ve tried this before or not, I hope it inspires you to create something!

Have a great day!

Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, February 24.

I am hopping today with a couple of cards using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps sets Alleluia LiliesAlleluia Lilies Dies, and Easter Innies.

My first card also uses the Delightfully Delicate Stencil. Did you know SNSS now has stencils? They’re wonderful!

When I stamped my second card, the color wasn’t what I anticipated for the card that I had in mind. BUT I loved the color that it turned out so I kept this one CAS and simply added a black sentiment. Bonus…I found sequins in the color I used to perfectly match! This one is super simple but I love it.

My last card today has a bit of stenciled background again. This time I stenciled and sponged inside a die cut oval. I thought the oval reminded me of an Easter egg or maybe the tomb?

Have a great day and thanks for hopping!

raspberry macarons

Macaroon…Macaron. What’s the difference? Macaroons are made with coconut, while macarons are made with ground almond and have a cream filling.

So why is the package of raspberry macarons made in Italy spelled Macaroon? hmmm. I have no idea but they are delicious!

I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Vintage Romance stamp set to make the card. I also followed the layout from Crafty Al’s February Sheetload of Cards.

These delicious cookies come in different flavors and are fun to color as such!

Have a great week!

love you big time

Good morning! It’s the beginning of the month, which means there’s a great new release at SNSS! Today I am sharing two projects using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps set called Good Morning. On this first card, I also used Much Love, Vintage Love, and Lollipop Alpha. I stamped and colored the clock, cut it out and layered it onto a patterned paper background. The clock face was stamped again onto patterned paper and paper pieced. This would be good for Valentine’s Day or any other time that you want to show someone how you feel.

For my second card, I used the clock from Good Morning again. This time I also used the new Texture Tiles 10 plus Make A Wish and Birthday Wordfetti. Since the background was kept simpler, I paper pieced the balloons!

Have a great day!

nature silhouettes sympathy

Good morning! Today I am sharing a CAS card using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps sets Nature Silhouettes and Encouraging Peonies. Sympathy cards are not my favorite to make and unfortunately I don’t keep many on hand so I went CAS with this card. I always think of blue, purple, and green colors for a sympathy one. This was inspired by some cards my friend, Tina made. I actually messed up the sentiment and didn’t want to throw away the panel after sponging and stamping so I layered the sentiment on top of the oops. I kinda like this better…happy accident!

Have a great day!

going postal

Hello! I am just popping in with a card using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps sets called Happy Mail and Going Postal. I knew when I first saw the postal set that I wanted to do a collage. There’s no rhyme or reason, no right or wrong way…it’s just fun to stamp images randomly and see how it comes out. I started with a light watercolor background and stamped over it when dry.

Have a good night!
