here’s to love…

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with another valentine card!  Seriously… if you haven’t checked out the Ai Valentine images yet, you need to do so!  Today I used the Love and Chocolate Set (4367).

Love Chocolate diane zechman

The sentiment reads- Here’s to love… and obscene amounts of chocolate!  I like this gal’s thinking!  mmm.

I paper pieced her top in a fun polka-dot paper and colored the rest of her to coordinate.  I could go for 3 boxes of chocolate, how about you?  😉

Have a great day and… happy stamping!

a cheerful giver

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog using one of my newly released Digi images.  I have to say that this is one of my favorite snowmen…mostly because he is in the company of a sweet bunny who decided to share his carrot!  A snowman must have a carrot nose, right?

snowy hello digi diane zechman

One great thing about digi images is that you can make them any size you want.  I wanted to make this image big and keep it simple, with the focus staying on the gift.  As I printed it out, this verse came to mind…

2 Corinthians 9:6-7     The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

This was intended as a thank you card but I think it also conveys what we feel in our heart as we share God’s love.

If you are a fan of Digital images, go check them out in the SNSS store.  And if you’d rather work with stamps & ink… this is also available in the Snowy Hello stamp set!

Thanks for popping in…happy stamping!

thin enough

Hello friends!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with a tutorial for our NEW Challenge… Paper Piecing Party!  I immediately thought of the Thin Enough Set (4670) and wanted to give this gal a fun patterned wrap and towel.

Ai paper piecing 5 diane zechman

I have to admit, my favorite technique of all is Paper Piecing.  It’s quick, easy, and so much fun (especially with the Ai images)!  If you’ve never tried it, you will love this… let’s get started!

First I stamped my image onto a white die cut panel and then stamped it again onto my patterned paper using black ink.

Ai paper piecing 1 diane zechman

Next, cut out the parts of the image from the patterned paper that you want to have the pattern.  Hint: it is easier to cut with sharp, pointy scissors and by holding the scissors still and moving the paper.

Ai paper piecing 2 diane zechman

Now color the parts of your image that will not be covered with the patterned paper cut outs.

Ai paper piecing 3 diane zechman

After coloring, glue your patterned paper cut outs to your image.  (I like to use a Zig 2-Way Glue pen to control the amount of glue and be able to get into small spaces).  I also colored the stripe on her wrap here with a brown marker.

Now add your paper pieced image to your finished card.  That’s it!  So fun.  :)

boy cupid

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with…you’ve guessed it!…yet another valentine card!  The Ai Valentine images are so fun!  Today I used the Boy Cupid set (4219) and my sentiment is from Show The Love Set (4230).

Isn’t he just the cutest little cupid?  I adore him!  I gave him some cute striped socks and colored a tiny heart on his little pants.

Archery is one of my husband’s hobbies, so this card is perfect in our house.  Besides, who can resist this cutie?  😉

valentine mail

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with another valentine card.  I think I’ve created more valentines this year than any other.  I sure am having fun with the Ai Valentine images! Today I used the Valentine Mail (3229) set.

Ai Valentine Mail diane Zechman

I’m not sure if the little bird is delivering or receiving some valentines but either way, this image is sweet!  Around the edges the sentiment repeats “Valentine love”.

I’ve colored an extra birdie and cut it out to pop up over the original.

I paws-itively love you

Hello!  January is flying by and my thoughts are turning to Valentine’s Day.  It will be upon us quick!

Today I am sharing a card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog using my Valentine Critters stamp set which also has coordinating dies.

box pleats diane zechman

This is a 4 1/4″ square card with some Box Pleats on the strip of floral patterned paper.  I started with a strip that is 1 1/2″ x 12″.

Using a Scor-Pal scoring board, I scored the strip at the following marks- 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 4, 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 6, 7, 7 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 10, 10 1/2, and 11 1/2 inches.  You will fold with a mountain/valley/valley/mountain pattern to look like this:

I made this card before the matching dies were available but now I love being able to cut the images so quickly and cleanly!

love you more than chocolate

Hey all!  Today Sweet ‘n Sassy is releasing a bunch of new digital images in the store…including a few of my own!  If you like to work with digis, you need to check them out.

I used some sweet little digi candies and a digi sentiment by Korin on my card today.

candy digi 1 diane zechman

I don’t normally use digital images but I have to say this was quick & easy!  It was super simple to get all the candies lined up and spaced perfectly by adding them to a Word doc and then printing it out.  :)

I traced over the sentiment with Copic markers to highlight it and add color.

Have a great day!

cold noses…

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

The current Ai Challenge is “Winter Wonderland” and I pulled out this cute sledding duo from the Ai Christmas Cheer Set (4666).  It doesn’t have to only be used for Christmas!

Ai cold noses diane zechman

The sleigh may be a Christmas color but I made the card more pink & blue.  I wanted a boy & girl bear to go sledding.  The card was finished off with a fun wooden snowflake which, by chance, accented the color of the girl bear nicely.

Now it’s your turn to make a card or project and join us in the new Ai Challenge!  We would love to see your wintery creation… it can be for any occasion!

Happy stamping!

wanna share?

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with a fun valentine card.  I used the Ai Wanna Share Set (4368). Wow…who wouldn’t love a huge box of chocolates?

The large heart is printed on the paper and I die cut the two smaller ones.  I placed her on a plain tag so she wouldn’t get lost on the busy striped background.  Then I added a few tiny rhinestones to finish it off.

Here’s a closer look at this happy gal…

holding you close

Hello friends and Merry Christmas!

I have one last Christmas card to share with you today.  This one uses the Ai Mouse Spinner (4674) and Mouse Spinner Dies (4693).  What a sweet image!

The mouse and ornament image is on a string in the card front opening so it spins!  The gray striped paper is adhered to the inside back of the card.
