quick rub-on cards

Published by diane (cookiestamper) under cards, etc.

rub-on-quick-cards-diane-zechman.jpgIt’s been an uninspiring week so far and I’ve had no time for stamping.  But I have a few projects I’ll be working on!  This is a set of quick, simple cards I made last week with some more of the Sell-A-Bration rubons.  The little girl was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  Not a lot to say here….they are very simple!  I didn’t even add any faux stitching…gasp!  ;)  Have a great day!

stamps- And Everything Nice

paper- PTI white, Lav. Lace, non SU Blue (similar to NQNavy)

ink- Palette Black

accessories- Love & Happiness rubons, paper flowers (Walmart), Stickles, Prismacolor pencils & Gamsol

the happy couple

wedding-bears-diane-zechman.jpgToday Christine at All That Scraps is having a Review Preview Friday of her new set Bear Hugs.  This set is just too stinkin’ cute!  Be sure to check out the ATS blog for more info.  Cyndi has a project for you to try and Renee will have some blog candy- an ATS gift certificate!

I really didn’t need a wedding card, but I thought the bears would make a super cute bride and groom!  So I’ll be ready when the next wedding invitation arrives.  ;)  I started with the Pink Pirouette card base and layered some white that was embossed with the new Cuttlebug Houndstooth folder.  The bears were cut out with Nestabilities dies and colored with Copic markers.  The flowers are from the C.C. Designs new Scenery set and the word is from the new Sentiment set.  You can check them all out here.  Which is your favorite?

wedding-bears-closeup-diane-zechman.jpgIn this close-up you can see the details of the bears a bit better.  I made the bow tie for the groom with some tiny ribbon.  I don’t think I’ll be doing that again anytime soon!  LOL.  It was fun though.  I had to cut the mini glue dots in half so they were small enough to stick the bow together.

The bride’s veil was made with a bit of sheer wide ribbon which was gathered slightly at the top and stuck down with a mini glue dot.  Then I added the flower from the Scenery set.  If you look closely you can see a bit of bling on her finger (Stickles- love that stuff!).

Have a super fun weekend!

paper- White, Black, Pink Pirouette

suspended birdhouse

suspended-birdhouse-diane-zechman.jpgHappy Wednesday!  I hope your week is going well!  I’m back with another card featuring the cute Olivia and her birds.  This is for Jen’s challenge over at the All That Scraps message board to make a suspension card.  What fun!  I think I only ever made one of these and it was so long ago.  I need to try this again!  You can find a tutorial on how to make one here.  When I saw this particular birdhouse image in the new C.C. Designs set, I thought it might be symmetrical enough to pull off putting them back to back.  And it worked pretty well.  I only needed to do some minor trimming.  Yay!  Then I found a Circle Nestabilities die to cut the openings in the front to hang my birdhouse.  I wanted the die big enough to fit the house inside but not too big that it would cut away a lot of the pretty paper.  I think this size worked pretty well!  Then I used some old SU linen thread to hang it.  The back of the birdhouse has a different bird on it but it looks pretty much the same so I won’t bore you with another pic.  ;)  On the left of the card is an embossed piece from one of the new Cuttlebug folders….check them out here!  And don’t forget that Christine has free shipping at ATS for orders over $25!

stamps- Olivia’s Birdies by C.C. Designs

paper- Celery, Saffron, Pixie, DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies

ink- Black, white craft

cherished moments

precious-moments-2-diane-zechman.jpgI hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Are you watching the Olympics?

Today I’ll share another card I made with the Sarah Kay Precious Moments image.  This time I used some Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie papers…I love those prints!  They just have a warm, happy feel to them!  The combination of the sweet image and cute papers just makes me happy.  I hope you like it too!
This image was colored the same as the one on this card with Prismas and Gamsol.  It was not stamped on watercolor paper though, so it has more of a white background rather than the creamier color of the watercolor paper.

This image and more can be found at Stampavie.  If you check out the website, you will see some fun new images for Christmas coming soon!

Olivia’s Birdies

olivias-birdies-1-diane-zechman.jpgThis Diagonal Double Pocket card was made using another new set by C.C. Designs- Olivia’s Birdies!  Directions for making this type of pocket card can be found here.  I thought it would be a fun card to make because there are several stamp images to work with.  This is another very versatile set!

I decided to cut Olivia out because I didn’t want to cover up the gorgeous paper!  I added a Choc. Chip photo corner to “ground” her a bit and yes, those are the last of my Choc. Chip flourishes….sigh.  I think I need to make more.  I was planning to add some Primas in a more subtle color but I kind-of like the brighter ones here.   I added some Liquid Pearls to the centers to finish them off.

olivias-birdies-1-inside-diane-zechman.jpgThis is the inside of the card and the tags which were removed from the front.  The words “You put a song in my heart” are in the Olivia set but the other words are from another great new set which will be featured on Sunday.  I’m not sure if I’ll have a sneak peek that day, so I snuck a few in here….shhh!  One tag obviously says “thanks”.  The other says “You are amazing”.  You can see more great samples of Olivia and her feathered friends on the ATS blog.

stamps- Olivia’s Birdies, Sentiment set- C.C. Designs

paper- Soft Sky, White, Choc. Chip, Afternoon Tea dp

ink- Palette Black, various for watercoloring

big bear hugs!

bear-hugs-1-diane-zechman.jpgHere’s another project using some long neglected supplies.  Besides the rub ons I used on the frame a week or so ago, I also pulled out my Scallop Circle notecards and tried one!  Actually, I had an extra envelope so I traced the scallop note onto Celery cardstock and cut it out.  It was embossed and pierced with the Pick A Petal brass template.  Then I used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut and layer the paper for the center.  I love those Choc. Chip envelopes!  I just had to decorate it to match the card.

Aren’t these images the cutest?  They are from the soon to be released C.C. Designs set called Bear Hugs!  I just love ‘em!  This set includes 2 bears, 2 bees, and a couple of fun sentiments.  Be sure to check out the ATS blog for more great samples.  And tomorrow I’ll share another super cute set.  They will be available for purchase Monday night!

I also used some more of those Choc. Chip flourishes I die cut.  But don’t worry…tomorrow’s card will finish up the last of them!  LOL.  I had a lot of fun with those… I hope you’re not tired of seeing them!  I’ll have to cut some more in another color.  ;)

Precious Moments

precious-moments-1b-diane-zechman.jpgThis card was made with another sweet Sarah Kay image by Stampavie called Precious Moments.  I love the little chicks with the girl and I just got some cute paper that goes perfectly with this image so I can’t wait to make another card with her!  On this one I used some cute paper by Fancy Pants.  The pink border was punched with SU’s new scallop border punch and then embossed in the Cuttlebug with the Floral Fantasy embossing folder.  I added some doodling with both a brown marker and a white gel pen.  Then I finished it off with some Primas and Liquid Pearls.

paper- watercolor paper, Saffron, Regal Rose, Fancy Pants Crush dp

ink- Palette Black

wish big!

Published by diane (cookiestamper) under cards, etc.

wish-big-deer-diane-zechman.jpgI made this masculine card a few months ago and never got around to sharing it.  Stamping the main image onto the light blue cardstock and only watercoloring the grass with blue made it a quick and simple card.  I didn’t have time to color the entire deer image so I thought this worked well.  The circles were cut with the Nestabilities and I pierced some holes for added interest.  Then I added some faux stitching and a few dots of black Stickles to the bottom left.   The inside reads “May your day be all you’re hunting for”.

stamps- Noble Deer, Whipper Snapper words

paper- Saffron, Black, Bashful, Ballet, dp- Die Cut With a View

ink- Palette Black, Mustard, Ballet

accessories- circle Nestabilities, Stickles

boatloads for Sean

Published by diane (cookiestamper) under cards, etc.

boatloads-for-sean-diane-zechman.jpgI’m sure you all know by now that about two weeks ago Daven announced that Splitcoaststampers was aquired by NameMedia.  If you haven’t heard about the changes, you can read about it here.  This card will be going out to Sean to welcome him and NameMedia to SCS.   I didn’t have a lot of time as it is a busy week here so I didn’t get as much “extra stuff” added to the card as I had wanted.  This was greatly inspired by two awesome stampers, Jami and Dawn Easton.  When you are short on time, it is great to semi-case!  You can see their cards here and here.  Thanks, gals!

flower window

Published by diane (cookiestamper) under cards, etc.

water-lily-front-diane-zechman.jpgThis is a fun card that I started making while visiting a neighbor friend a few weeks ago.  I just now got around to finishing it!  My friend was making some cards similar to this with a circle punched window and a scallop punch frame.  I thought it would be a cute flower so I added two more punched flowers beside it.  The butterfly shows through the flower window so I needed some images that would co-ordinate for the other two flowers.  I decided to use some images from the SU! Time Well Spent set for the centers and I stamped them all some stems as well.  The words were done on the computer and punched out.  Then I added some Stickles and doodling.

water-lily-skiing-diane-zechman.jpgWhen you open the card, you can see the entire Penny Black image.  I borrowed the image from my friend.  In fact, stamping the mouse was the only part I got done that night.  I’m glad I found time to finish it!

stamps- Water Lily Skiing- Penny Black, SU! Time Well Spent

paper- Pixie, Saffron, White

ink- Black

accessories- computer words, watercolor crayons, Scallop punch, Circle punch, Word Window punch, Stickles
