A Little About Me:

My husband and I live in northeastern PA and are empty-nesters except for our spoiled pup.  We are very excited to soon become first time grandparents!  I have been stamping for 15 years and have been blessed to work on several design teams.

1. How long have you been a fan of Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps? I became a customer and joined the DT, as well as joining as an illustrator in February 2013.
2. What do you enjoy outside of stamping? I like to cook and bake (especially making soups in the cooler weather), spending time with family, reading (although I am always behind on that), and watching Christmas movies this time of year!
3. What is your “day” job?  I work part-time in a learning support classroom.
4. Who inspires you?  I find inspiration everywhere…it’s all around us!  Recently I created this card that was inspired by this photo…

5. Share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that most people might not know.  I don’t drink coffee.  I enjoy making coffee themed cards but I don’t like to drink it!
6. What advice would you give to a new stamper?  Start with good quality basic supplies…trimmer, scoring board, cardstock, stamps and ink.  You will be so much happier with the results of your projects.
7. What is your favorite SNSS set? It is honestly too hard to pick just one…Korin has beautiful stamps!  Of course, I like all my own sets.  😉  But if I must choose, I guess I would say Parisian Postcard.  So lovely and so versatile!  Here’s a few cards I have made with it.

There’s a new Ai Challenge today… “Rudolf Red and Evergreen” (use red & green!) and we are showcasing some NEW Ai and Hampton Arts Christmas Sets which are exclusive to the Michael’s craft stores!

I made 2 similar cards using the Ai Reindeer set (SCO715).

I also used one of the oval dies from the Scallop Easel Dies (4700) to create the cutout in the card front.

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with another one of my favorite CHA samples, this one using the Angel Spinner stamp set (4673) and matching Angel Spinner dies (4692).  This sweet little angel is such a cutie!

I simply embossed a cloud background and die cut an oval opening in the front.

Christmas Cheer

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

The current Ai Challenge is “Be Merry” and we are showcasing the NEW 2015 Christmas images!  I used the cute little penguin from the Christmas Cheer set (4666).  They’re all adorable…it’s hard to pick a favorite!

I veered from the traditional red & green colors of Christmas and went for a bright one!  I really like this color combo!  The penguin embossed background adds a fun touch too.

Hello Friday!

Hello friends!  Yes, I know it’s only Thursday…lol!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with one of my favorite samples made for the Ai CHA release using the Robe Spinner stamp set (4677) and matching Robe Spinner dies (4696).  Who wouldn’t love to receive a card with this FUN image and sentiment?!

CHA 6a diane zechman

I love my job but don’t we all look forward to Friday?  :)

I placed my die cut opening slightly off the edge of the card front for a fun, different look.  Here’s the back of her as she spins around on the string she’s attached to.

The matching dies make lining her up and attaching her to the string so easy!  Here’s some close ups.

hope in God

Hello friends!  Before I get to my card today, let me first say thank you to all our Veterans for their service to our country.  Thank you!

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps is celebrating their birthday all month long and we have lots of inspiration to share.  Be sure to keep checking Facebook and the blog for samples, give-aways, and promotions!  This week SNSS is offering free shipping with your $30 order until Thursday, November 12th.  Be sure to enter code BDAYFREESHIP at checkout.

Today I am sharing a card with one of my fave sets… Nature Silhouettes 2.  This set is so fun to use by stamping the silhouettes over a sponged background!

hope in God diane zechman

The lower half of the stamped panel was masked off before sponging.  A circle was punched from an additional mask to sponge in the sun.  Then a sentiment was added from The Future stamp set and another bird was stamped beside it.

Have a great Wednesday and don’t forget to thank a veteran!

to go, please

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am on the Art Impressions blog with this card using one of my favorite Ai People… Maude (1238)!  I am not a morning person so I can totally relate to her attitude!  Funny thing is…I enjoy making coffee themed cards but I don’t drink it myself!  lol.  The sentiment is from the Giraffe Set (4190)…cracks me up every time I read it!

Here’s a close up of Maude.

coffee card candy 2 diane zechman

I carried the theme to the INSIDE of the card with Maude stamped in light brown and a sentiment from the Cathy Caffeine Set (4322).

coffee card candy 3 diane zechman

The elements on this card were originally made for a Card Candy Swap that I had with some stamping friends.  The pieces were all layered and embellished, then adhered to a piece of clear acetate (or use vellum or wax paper) with a removable glue dot.  I thought it would be fun to emboss a background piece as well to slip in the baggie behind the acetate.

This is a 4×6 clear bag with the topper attached.

If you’ve never made card candy, I would encourage you to give it a try!  It’s a great way to trade or share with your friends and so fun to see what you create with the pieces!

Have a great day and… happy stamping!

holiday greetings

Hello!  Today may be Halloween but my thoughts are already turning to Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I have a quick holiday card to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Season’s Greetings set.  I don’t have the matching dies (yet!) but they would have been great to cut out the birds!  I will link them below.

holiday greetings diane zechman

I was originally only planning to stamp the birds on the background layer but then decided to color and pop some up as well.  I also used a Puffy Velvet marker and my heat tool to create some snow on the birdhouse.

holiday greetings 2 diane zechman

I am really behind on making Christmas cards this year.  Usually I start in January!  I am not looking forward to the cold weather and snow but maybe when it comes it will get me in the right mood to create some holiday cards!  :)

Have a great weekend and a safe Halloween night!
