Just popping in quick today with a card I made to honor my good friend Cheryl Rowley! (I miss her lots!) Cheryl is this week’s Featured Stamper on SCS…congrats, Cheryl! Click here to see her card that inspired mine.
I stamped this image at a friend’s house one time and I still think I need to purchase it!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
stamps- Whipper Snapper Fall Jar Bouquet, sentiment- Studio G $1 stamp; paper- SU! Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, The Paper Studio Gingham; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Black, SU! Crushed Curry; Copics, Rectangle Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch.
It has been a while since I got to create with the SU! Paper Pumpkin kits. Most of my time this year was spent enjoying the preparations of my daughter’s wedding. (I still need to share those pics too!) Now that things have settled down, I want to catch up on those little boxes of fun. And I was thrilled that this month had a kit to help me get moving on my Christmas cards and tags!
I usually like to put my own spin on the projects but this time I mostly followed the instructions… with just a few slight changes. Then I created some extras with the leftover pieces. This kit creates 8 Christmas cards plus 12 tags. I made an extra 9 cards and 9 tags for a total of 17 cards and 21 tags!
Here’s the card that is in the kit. The instructions say to add that blue punch-out snowflake to the envelope but I want these to be mailable so I added them to the front of the card instead.
On the inside, I tilted the sentiment panel and added a stamped snowflake.
Since I didn’t add the blue flake to the envelopes, I stamped them. Much more postal friendly!
These layered tags in the kit are so cute! I stuck with the plan but added a stamped snowflake to the inside.
When I was finished with the directions there were still PLENTY of leftover pieces so I kept going. I only had to add some extra cardstock, a few extra rhinestones, etc.
I didn’t throw away the cardstock negatives from the silver and blue punch-out snowflakes. I cut the blue piece into strips and got 5 cards in this design…
I only made one of this one but I think this might be my favorite. I can’t believe I STILL have extra Washi tape left…
Here I added some green and brown and got 3 cards of this design.
The leftover piece of silver from the silver snowflakes was cut into squares and I got 7 of these cute tags!
And lastly, I threw together these 2 tiny tags. The blue flake fit perfectly into the silver negative piece.
I hope these have inspired you to use your leftover pieces to create more fun Paper Pumpkin projects!

Brrr! We were spoiled with a few extra days of nice temps but now it has gotten cooler. I am not especially fond of the cold but today I have a card to help warm someone up.
I recently purchased the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Notcher which compliments their Envelope Punch Board. And I wanted to use it for a Make & Take for some dear friends who came to visit at my friends Lisa & Lou Ann’s store. But I thought it would be fun to notch something else besides an envelope… because we can all read & follow the directions on the package, right? lol. But when I did a quick search, I soon realized that there aren’t any tutorials using this tool for projects other than making a notched envelope…or maybe I’m not looking in the right place??
Anyway, I first decided to create a tri-fold card so I figured out the measurements for cutting and scoring. Then I changed it up a bit and turned my tri-fold into a pocket card… so you can tuck in whatever you wish. Mine has a hot cocoa packet. And I used my Snowman Soup stamp set by Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.
And here it is open…with hot cocoa inside…
My snowman was paper pieced (still one of my fave techniques!). A marker was used on his scarf though.
To create the Tri-fold card base, I started with a 5 1/2″ x 10 1/4″ piece of cardstock. Using my Scor-Pal, I scored the length at 3″ and 7 1/4″. (Or you can just score each end at 3″) Crease scored lines.
Next, centering the Envelope Notcher in the middle section both horizontally and vertically, fold and punch each end (the top and the bottom).
Then staple, tape or glue each side of the pocket and decorate your card as desired. The snowflake border was diecut from white cardstock using the Sizzix Decorative Strip Die – Holly, Beaded & Snowflake Garland. I dotted this with a little Stickles.
Here’s a quick video with a few hints on using the envelope notcher and making this project…
Hope this helps you have a little more fun with this cool tool!

Yay, it’s Friday! Do you have anything fun planned? I am hoping to get some crafting done this weekend. I need several birthday cards this month and I’m already a bit late with a few. oops! I really liked how this one turned out though. The Art Impressions stamps always make me smile and bring a little giggle too! This piggy from Hog Wild Birthday is just too fun…
I couldn’t wait to paper piece her dress and I just love her jumping pose! Here’s a close up…
Too bad the shimmer doesn’t show. Some Wink of Stella was applied to the cupcake, her hat, and her glasses.
I’m late! Yesterday was the first Sunday of the month…which means…it’s time for another Challenge Chicks Challenge!
We’re a small group of friends who post a new challenge on the first Sunday of each month…no stress, no deadlines…just for fun. And we’d love to have you join us! This month it is Kelly’s turn and her challenge is Silver & Gold… use one or the other, or both! I used silver and gold cardstock, plus gold embossing powder on my CAS Christmas card.
The gold embossed snowflakes are from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Spectacular Snowflakes stamp set. The sentiment is from Mod Ornaments and was embossed with white e.p. The little scallop border was diecut with a die from the SNSS Bookmarks and More set of dies.
Maybe it’s the fact that Christmas is slowly approaching, but every time I thought of “silver and gold” while creating this, my mind kept hearing Sam the Snowman from Rudolf singing the Silver & Gold song. Here you go…you can thank me later for getting it stuck in your head too!
Please join us and create a card with silver or gold… then share it on our Facebook page! Also, you can upload it to the Splitcoast gallery…and use the keyword CHXNOV14. Now be sure to click on the links below to check out what the other Chicks created!
