Stamp & Swap projects

Today I’m sharing some projects that I made for our recent Stamp & Swap gathering, an all-day stamping event with friends. It’s always a fun time to get together with friends!

The first one is a card I made for my “shoebox”. Everyone prepared supplies for all of the attendees to make their project. I used the Spellbinders Sharyn Sowell Tree Picking die with some Paper Studio Christmas Plaid paper from Hobby Lobby to create a Double Z-Fold card. I also used the Cuttlebug Winter House embossing folder and the sentiment is from the retired Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Wondrous Miracle.

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 11 and the front strip is 7/8 x 11. Both were scored @ 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. The plaid layers are 2 1/2 x 4 and 4 x 5 1/4. The black is 2 1/2 x 4, and the white embossed piece is 2 3/8 x 3 7/8.

The red die cut was just a bit too long for the card front, so I cut the cat off the end and adhered it under the tree as I saw in another card sample (unknown).

I participated in 2 swaps…the first is the 6×6 recipe swap. For this one I used some old wood mounted Cambell’s kid and soup can stamps (1997 Stamp Affair- J1860, L1867) . The oval in the center was computer generated.

The other swap I participated in is the ATC Coin swap. Here I used Rubber Stampede Charlie Brown XMAS Tree, SNSS Christmas Wordfetti and Cheerful Snowmen (snowflakes).

My last project is a stamped note cube. These are not sticky notes, just a stack of paper glued on one side. I have some of these left from many years ago so I don’t have a source but you can search for blank note cube. The SU! Poinsettia Petals set was used with Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Tip Top Taupe, and Hello Honey inks. Some Wink of Stella was applied to the flowers. When finished, I wrapped it up in a cello bag.

Thanks for looking!

winter gnomes side fold & atc coin

Hello! Can you believe the end is in sight for this difficult year? Today I have two projects using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps set called Winter Gnomes. On the Side Fold card below I also used Christmas Gnomes.

I participated in an ATC Coin swap a bit ago. Here I also used Encouraging Peonies. I watercolored a background, die cut the circles, and then stamped. The little punched hearts were popped with foam tape.

Have a great day!

winter hugs and lots of love

Good morning! Today I have 2 projects that use up some of those paper scraps laying around! I also used the adorable new Lots of Love, Love Wordfetti, and Winter Hugs stamp sets.

I cut my paper scraps into 1/2″ strips and created a simple striped background for my card. I hated to cover it up so I just added a small black strip for my image to sit on.

I had some strips leftover from my card so I used some more to create a few ATC Coins. I cut a few words from the Love Wordfetti set and added a bit of white paint pen to the stamped hearts.

Have a great day!

Christmas catch up

Hello! I have several Christmas cards and some scrapbook pages that I didn’t get to share so today I’ll post them all together here. The first two cards were actually made back in July for the Art Impressions new release for the summer trade show. The first card uses the 5193- Woodland Holiday Set. I also used the Hexagon Double Stitched Dies.

On my second card I used those same dies, along with 5192- Penguin Cheer Set. Both sets are so cute! Papers are from Doodlebug- home for the holidays. Sentiment is on Sizzix Ornate Labels.

I love, love, love the Simon Says Stamp Gnome dies! I will definitely be making more cards with those!

Here’s another ATC Coin I made for a swap. The Grinch stamp set is from Gina Marie Designs.

I wanted to add the extra sentiment but it wouldn’t quite fit so I added an extra scored circle to the back. Then I split the sentiment and added it to the inside.

I am not usually a scrapbooker but I made these pages for a friend so I made an extra set for myself! Love the lantern!

I used a Martha Stewart Looped Snowflake punch, retired Sweet ‘n Sassy Large Snowflake dies, Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy, Simon Says Stamp Kadyn Snowflake, Gina Marie Designs- Lantern, Pine Cone, Pine Needle Sprig set, and Ribbon Bow die set, Marianne Designs Sleigh die and tree die, Prima Forest Leaves dies, and SU! Detailed Deer Thinlits.

This starry night sky card was my shoebox project at an event in November. The stars are a Tim Holtz die. This card was CASED but I have no info where it’s from. Love the simplicity!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to get a head start and make a few Christmas cards each month. We’ll see how that goes (I say it every year).

Have a great day!

be still ATC coin

A little over a year ago I made my first ATC Coin. They are similar to the ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) which are 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ but these are 2 1/2″ circles instead. Here I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Vintage Love, Art Deco Alpha, and Happy Camper. I stamped the typewriter directly onto a patterned paper scrap and added some white paint pen highlights.

I participated in a few trades of these coins and I’ve been on the lookout for a cylindrical container to keep them in. They sort of remind me of a larger version of the Pogs that our kids had years ago! Remember those? Well, I hadn’t seen any containers until one evening on a shopping trip to Walmart when I spied a Pringles can. LOL.

I washed the inside of that empty can and cut some patterned papers to cover it. Then I stamped the alpha on the top section and adhered the papers and some ribbon with Scor-Tape.

Here’s my finished container…

Try the ATC Coins… they are a lot of fun! Have a great day!

In The Meadow ATC Coin

Good morning! Today I have a little different project using some Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps. But before I get to it, remember to check out the current SNSS special for the November birthday release!

You may be familiar with the ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) which are 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ but a fun new trend is to make ATC Coins which are 2 1/2″ circles. Here’s my first one that I created for a swap.

I started by designing some word art in Photoshop and I incorporated my Snowman With Skates digital image. After printing them out, I punched them with a 2 1/2″ circle punch. Then I applied some masking fluid to the snowman to resist the Jane Davenport watercolors I added after the masking fluid was dry. The masking fluid was then carefully rubbed off. I used stamps from Thrill of Hope and Texture Tiles 1 with 2 shades of blue ink. The snowman was colored with Copics and some Wink of Stella made him sparkle.

If you haven’t tried the ATC Coins yet, they are a lot of fun!

Have a great day!
