Halloween party matchbook

Good morning! I am helping to fill in on the Art Impressions blog again this week and I’m back with another fun Matchbook project. If you missed the birthday matchbook I shared two weeks ago, you can check that out HERE. I have a pic in that post of just how tiny they are! These cute little 3-D scenes fold up and slip into a tiny envelope! This time I used images from several sets and created a little Halloween birthday party scene. Do you know someone with an October birthday who likes to celebrate it Halloween style?

Today I used 5319- Birthday Set5323- MB Wall Accessories5317- MB Template Dies5318- MB Envelope Dies, 5320- MB Kitchen Set, 5324- MB Cat Accessories, and 5038- Ghoul Friend Set.

The pumpkin face inside the picture frame is from a scrap of patterned paper. The tablecloth was also paper pieced and in the photo below you can see the patterned paper “rug” under the table. (Recollections- Midnight Magic Halloween and Doodlebug- Halloween Parade.) The tiny moon and cloud are from very old small McGill punches.

The back…

I hope you try these…they’re so fun! Thanks for popping in and have a great week!

woodland holiday wishes

Hello! I have another project to share today for the Art Impressions Tuesday blog post. This time I wanted to make a few holiday cards to start building up my pile to send out this Christmas. For these cards, I used 5193- Woodland Holiday Set and 5134- Banner Double Stitched Dies.

Isn’t this owl just the cutest? ♥ I couldn’t decide which way to turn the double-sided paper that I chose so I made the card both ways! lol. I love that the woodgrain side of this paper has the snow printed on it!

Be sure to check out the other cute images in this set. Thanks for popping in and have a great week!

Ai Birthday Matchbook

Hello! I have a super fun project to share today. I was thrilled to be asked to make a project for the Art Impressions blog today. I love Ai images and recently ordered some of the Matchbook series. I couldn’t wait to try them out and I wasn’t disappointed. They are adorable! You can customize the sweetest little 3-D scenes that fold up and slip into a tiny envelope! I used the birthday set with some old My Mind’s Eye papers (Dolled Up) to make a little party scene.

For this project, I used 5319- Birthday Set, 5323- MB Wall Accessories, 5317- MB Template Dies, and 5318- MB Envelope Dies.

Just to show the size of it folded up, here’s the envelope in my hand! This is the smallest card I’ve ever made! lol.

A few more photos of the inside…the cake table and cupboard pop away from the back wall. The tiny windows are optional to die cut but it’s so cute with them. Each accessory image has tabs on them to make it easy to adhere.

This is what it looks like opened up…

There’s even a die included to make a little stand on the back to help keep it standing up.

Folded up and ready to slip in the envelope…

If you like miniatures, you need to check these out! Thanks for popping in and have a great week!

recent journaling

Hello! Today I have a few recent bible journaling pages to share. I don’t always share them but with all that’s going on in the world today, I really needed to dig back in and hopefully these pages will brighten your day a bit too.

34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.
35 Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
    and glory in your praise.”
36 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting.

Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”

I started this Thanksgiving page at the holiday but never got around to water-coloring it until recently. I think I was a bit intimidated! lol. It wasn’t difficult after all and was really a lot of fun. I do love some cherry pie!  I followed this tutorial by Scribbling Grace with her free printable to create the page and added a red tassel to a paperclip for a tab. I used Kuretake watercolors and the SNSS With Love Alpha.

Ezekiel 11:19

19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.

My Christmas page wasn’t done on a Christmas verse in the bible but rather was based on the Grinch having a change of heart and the true meaning of Christmas. Our hearts are truly transformed by the Good News of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. And no matter who we are or what we have done, there is hope for our future.

I used the Grinch stamp set by Gina Marie Designs and hand drew his head, body, and arms. The ornament was stamped again onto white cardstock. I wrote the words on it and colored, cut & layered it on. The popcorn garland is from SNSS Deck the Halls and the sleigh/present is from Warmth of Christmas. I colored with Inktense pencils.

But, as it is written,

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”

Yesterday my friend, Lou Ann, shared a memory on Facebook of me “trying to steal” her dessert at one of our giggler dinners. LOL. Our large group of friends all miss getting together for fun crafty days and our monthly dinners so much! It reminded me of this page that I’ve been wanting to do so I finally got it done. I was also inspired by Stephanie Gammon’s page and the following story that you’ve most likely heard:

I found a fork image online, turned and cropped it, and printed it onto a clear sticker sheet. All images were stamped with SU! Going Gray ink and the words with Versafine Black. The cake is from SNSS Make A Wish and the flowers are from Mason Jar Bouquet. I also sponged the gray ink with the Tim Holtz Doily Stencil. The words were done with SNSS Sunshine Girl Alpha, With Love Alpha, Teeny Alpha, and Inspirational Word Art 2. The tiny fork on the tab is from Sizzix Festive Treats dies.

Be not quick in your spirit to become angry,
for anger lodges in the heart of fools.

My last page was created because of all the negative political posts lately that are getting many of us down. I used the Art Impressions Sloth-some Set and the SNSS Marker Alpha and Art Deco Alpha. The hat and balloon on the hanging sloth were masked off. The stencil is TCW Gabrielle Pollacco Mini Moving Vines. The grass is from SNSS Happy Camper. Images were colored with Inktense pencils.

Thanks for reading this far and have a great weekend!

virtual stamping

The past few weeks I have been doing some “virtual stamping” with friends, playing along with random challenges. It has been a great way to make a bunch of RAK’s to send and also connect with friends I haven’t seen in a while!

Here’s the cards that I made so far. The first photo is for a challenge to use bunnies or flowers and also uses the Scrappy Strip technique for the background. (I honestly didn’t watch the entire video and just winged it. If you want to skip the chit chat, go to the 20 minute mark.) I used the Spellbinders 24 Carrot dies and the following papers: black, white, SU! Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red and Daffodil Delight, Echo Park- Sunny Days Ahead.

This card was for a monochromatic challenge. The images are a free printable from A Jillian Vance Design.

My next card was for a challenge to make a humorous card. I used a free printable by Taylored Expressions for the sentiment and thought it would pair well with Ai’s Maude! The sentiment was cut with Gina Marie’s Scallop Stitched Rectangles. Papers are white, Lemon Lime Twist, Taken With Teal, navy, K&Co. Que Sera Sera.

This CAS card was for a sketch challenge and also using the colors Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Pool Party. I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday Borders and Lots of Love sets with patterned paper scraps (SU! Sycamore Street) to make the cake.

The ladybug card was also for sketch and color challenges, using SU! Little Ladybugs and matching dies. The background panel was embossed with the Subtle e.f. for a little texture. The matching envelope was a third challenge here.

Here’s a card with an older SU! set, Not So Seriously, for another sketch challenge. The paper is Simple Stories- Vintage Bliss.

This next card was actually my first one for the challenges and my least favorite. Next time I would use a lighter background. The challenges here were to use these colors and sketch and make it in 15 minutes. I obviously need more time than that. lol.

This was for 2 challenges (I combined them a lot. lol)… the colors and to make a masculine card. I used SU! Sailing Home and matching dies & paper.

Next card was for a fancy fold card challenge. I chose to make a Square Z-fold card. I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Tea For Two and Colorbok’s Beach House paper.

Inside is an oval with Die-Namics Stitched Mini Scallop Ovals.

My last cards today were for a sketch challenge. I used the SNSS printable Encouraging Thoughts, Avery Elle Let It Snow Die, Sizzix Wildflower Stems #1, Jane Davenport watercolors, and SU! Square Lattice embossing folder. The flowers were diecut from watercolor paper.

After the watercolored flowers were dry, I added some Wink of Stella.

I am thankful for friends keeping me crafty during this time! Stay safe and have a good week!

loads of fun

Hello! I have four more cards today that I haven’t shared and then I think I’m caught up! These were made in December 2018 for the January 2019 trade show. I love, love, love Art Impressions stamps! They’re so fun. I especially love to paper piece their clothes, can you tell? lol.

My first card uses the 5110- Housework Set. This set even has a cat sitting on a Roomba! I paper pieced her dress to match with papers by My Mind’s Eye- Happy Day. The blue cardstock on all of the cards is SU! Baja Breeze. Other supplies for this card: Copics, Sizzix Dotted Squares & Ornate Labels, MFT Stitched Scalloped Edges, foam dimensionals, square brads and rhinestones.

Next I used the 5115- Birthday Laugh Lines set. I gave this guy matching pants and then pieced his shirt too. The papers here are Doodlebug- Sugar Shoppe. I also used MFT Stitched Rounded Rectangles, circle punches, and enamel dots.

My third card has a super cool lady from the 5111- Loads of Fun Set. She has some balance and coordination for her age! lol. Here I used papers from Pebbles- Garden Party. Other supplies: MFT Stitched Square Scallop Frames & Blueprints 20, Sizzix Ornate Labels, rhinestones.

And my last card uses the 5114- Never Too Old Laugh Lines set. I love that sentiment. Papers on this one are from My Mind’s Eye- Hello Gorgeous. I layered a bunch of diecut circles (Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles) on the bottom. Her balloon was paper pieced too.

If you love these as much as I do, click on my links to get them for yourself! Have a great day!

Christmas catch up

Hello! I have several Christmas cards and some scrapbook pages that I didn’t get to share so today I’ll post them all together here. The first two cards were actually made back in July for the Art Impressions new release for the summer trade show. The first card uses the 5193- Woodland Holiday Set. I also used the Hexagon Double Stitched Dies.

On my second card I used those same dies, along with 5192- Penguin Cheer Set. Both sets are so cute! Papers are from Doodlebug- home for the holidays. Sentiment is on Sizzix Ornate Labels.

I love, love, love the Simon Says Stamp Gnome dies! I will definitely be making more cards with those!

Here’s another ATC Coin I made for a swap. The Grinch stamp set is from Gina Marie Designs.

I wanted to add the extra sentiment but it wouldn’t quite fit so I added an extra scored circle to the back. Then I split the sentiment and added it to the inside.

I am not usually a scrapbooker but I made these pages for a friend so I made an extra set for myself! Love the lantern!

I used a Martha Stewart Looped Snowflake punch, retired Sweet ‘n Sassy Large Snowflake dies, Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy, Simon Says Stamp Kadyn Snowflake, Gina Marie Designs- Lantern, Pine Cone, Pine Needle Sprig set, and Ribbon Bow die set, Marianne Designs Sleigh die and tree die, Prima Forest Leaves dies, and SU! Detailed Deer Thinlits.

This starry night sky card was my shoebox project at an event in November. The stars are a Tim Holtz die. This card was CASED but I have no info where it’s from. Love the simplicity!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to get a head start and make a few Christmas cards each month. We’ll see how that goes (I say it every year).

Have a great day!

a few thank you cards

I recently made a few quick thank you cards for some companies that donated to our local Stamp & Swap event. Many thanks to them for supporting us! I always like to use each companies’ products when making their thank you card. For Art Impressions, I used the cute 5112- Hedgehogs stamp set. I also used MFT’s Stitched Arch Stax.

Here I used Avery Elle’s The Scoop stamp set and matching dies, along with MFT’s Stitched Rectangle Frames.

The cute little boat is from Clearly Besotted. The wave dies are Lawn Fawn Stitched Wave Borders.

And for MFT I used the lovely Stitched Blooms dies along with Blueprints 31.

I’ll be back to share my swap projects. Have a great day!

go. fish.

Hello friends! It’s been a while since I shared a bible journaling page! Here’s one I did a few days ago. While reading a daily devotional toward the end of June, one page was focusing on this verse. As I was reading, this image of the Art Impressions fishing buddies came to mind and I knew I wanted to use it in my bible. I also wanted the main words to be short and to the point. Here’s what I came up with.

The men in the boat, the fish, and the words on the tab are all from the Ai 4900- Reel Great Guys Set. The word “O-FISH-ALLY” is also from the set and was masked from one of the sentiments. I used the birds image (to cover up a little smudge!) from the Ai 5069- My Fortress Set. The letters for “go. fish.” were stamped with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Love Ya Like A Sister Alpha stamps.

I masked and sponged the sun first (with a 1″ circle punched from cardstock), then the skyline. Then I sponged the bottom, changing from the yellow/orange colors to blue/green. The men & boat were stamped onto the page and again onto white cardstock. The cardstock was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. Then the image was cut out (minus the fishing poles and water) and layered on top of the one on the page.

I hope you are inspired to give it a try and glorify Him with your creativity!

Have a blessed day!
