doodling with MIX13

There’s a new mixed media challenge forum that started back in February on the Splitcoast site.  Have you checked it out?  I finally took the plunge and played along with this week’s challenge…to include some hand drawn doodling on your project.

I had some time Friday night between loads of laundry to quickly sketch some flowers, a sentiment, and a squiggly border.  I was inspired by my friends Dina and Bridget (their cards are LOVELY!)

You also must pick any 2 mediums for the MIX… I watercolored the image with Twinkling H2O’s (it really shimmers in person!), then spritzed the piece with a SU! Regal Rose marker.  A few accents were added with a glitter pen and I added a bit of Liquid Pearls to the butterfly.  Hope I did it right!  If not, I had fun anyway.  :0)

Here’s a close up.

Hope you have a great Sunday!  Thanks for popping in.

paper- watercolor paper, SU! Vanilla, Pink Pirouette; ink- Regal Rose marker, Micron pen; accessories- color spritzer, Martha Stewart royal butterfly punch, Liquid Pearls, Gelly Roll glitter pen; Twinkling H2O’s- Apple Blossom, Sun Burst, Pear Blossom, Razzleberry, Persimmon, Carribean Mist, Blue Grass, Wild Vine.

Very fun card. That butterfly is so adorable with that 3D body. After seeing this, I’ll need to dust off my H2o’s and give them another try.
