born to ride

Yay!  It’s Friday!  Do you have any plans for the weekend?  I think I’ll still be catching up with everything I didn’t get done over the holiday break.  LOL.  Maybe I’ll take down the tree….maybe.  I’d still like to enjoy it a bit longer.

A few months ago I was given this retired stamp set and I was thrilled to receive it since there are a few men that I can definitely use it for!  I made this card in November for my brother-in-law’s birthday.  The holidays were just so busy that I haven’t had time to share it yet.

The Soft Suede cardstock layer was done with the Faux Suede technique.  To create the look of suede on paper, you need to break down the fibers in the cardstock by crumpling and unfolding it several times.  Or run your cardstock along the edge of a table (you can also use a bone folder or paper crimper), turn 90° and repeat.  Beginning at an edge or corner, you can then peel the paper in half.  You will end up with 2 pieces of cardstock that have the look of suede on one side.

Have a fun weekend!
