faux tiles

I’m back tonight with another card using the SU! Nature Walk set.  This time I tried the Faux Tile technique.  It’s been several years since I’ve done this technique… it’s always fun to try them again!  You can find directions on SCS here

Basically, you just stamp your images onto cardstock, cut it up into 1″ squares (or desired size), and cover with 3D Crystal Lacquer (Glossy Accents and SU! Crystal Effects are the same stuff).  The squares can be placed onto another piece of cardstock either before or after applying the Crystal Lacquer.  The layer underneath the tiles mimics grout.

It was kinda difficult getting a good pic of the “glaze” on the tiles but I think you can see the shine here…

I’ll be back tomorrow with one more Nature Walk card.

stamps- SU! Nature Walk; paper- Sierra Sand, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, white; ink- Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Wisteria Wonder; accessories- Cuttlebug Leafy Branch, Crystal Effects, ribbon, button, thread.
