i scream…you scream…

Happy Monday!  I’m popping in today with a sweet paper treat…and who doesn’t like ice cream?

These popsicle cards have been around quite a few years but they are still fun to make on occasion.  With summer here, I’ve been seeing them pop up again around the net and so I pulled out an old SU! set to create one.

I thought it would be cute to stamp the sentiment on the stick.  The image was stamped once onto the brown cardstock and then again onto white.  The girl and balloon were paper pieced.  Then I traced over the balloon string and drew some grass with sparkly gel pens.

The ribbon slides down the stick a bit to open the card.  Here’s the inside.

This is really quick and easy…here’s some basic directions:

Start with a 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of cardstock.  Score it in half at 2 3/4.  Round 3 of the corners.  Punch part of a scalloped circle on the remaining corner.  Layer a piece of white or colored cardstock (for different flavors) on the inside of the cardfront, making sure it shows a little from the front.

For the inside layer,  cut a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of cardstock.  Round 3 corners and attach.  Line the scalloped punch up to the previous cut and punch again.  Add a popsicle stick to the back with red line tape or strong glue.  Tie a ribbon onto the stick and slide it up to keep the card closed.

Thanks for stopping by!
