It’s time again for some sneak peeks of new stamps that will be released at All That Scraps!  The previews started yesterday with a new set by a new illustrator at ATS.  You can see the DT cards and read all about the new designer here on the ATS blog.

Today we are previewing a new set by Amy called AmyR Butterfly.  I also used Amy’s Thank You Sentiments set on this card. 

This did not turn out how I envisioned it but it was fun anyway and not too far off from the thought I had.  I just wasn’t completely satisfied until I finished and made a complete mess of it.  LOL.  This is the kind of stamping I used to enjoy and sort of got away from.  So it was fun to see how the card evolved. 

For the background, I started with a piece of regular white cardstock (not glossy) and embossed the butterflies with clear ep.  Then I sponged red, orange and blue ink over them and buffed with a tissue.  Next I spritzed the entire piece with a black marker and the Inkworx air art tool.  This is where I originally thought I’d be finished but it looked pretty unfinished to me.  LOL.  So I distressed it by crumpling the whole piece into a ball, smoothing it out and crumpling again.  Next I watercolored around the butterflies with yellow ink and a waterbrush.  When that was dry, I stamped the words all over the background with orange ink and sponged around the edges.  Then to finish, I brushed some Angel Wings Shimmerz over the entire piece.  I wish the photo would have picked up the shimmer!
