pumpkin thanks

pumpkin-thanks-diane-zechman.jpgI have a few photos of projects that I haven’t had a chance to share yet and this is one of them.  I figured I better get it uploaded before it’s too late.  This will be another short & sweet post…I don’t want to sit in this chair too long.  I must have done something to my back because it’s killing me.  So I will be resting tonight instead of getting some things done I had planned.  :0(

A friend needed a few thank-you cards and I didn’t know if they would be going to some males or females so this is what I came up with.  I am really loving my diecuts lately!  The only stamping done here was the words and the flourish on the pumpkin.

stamps- Baroque Motifs, Spring Solitude; paper- Wasabi, Rust, River Rock, Vanilla, Apple Cider dp; ink- Rust; accessories- Cuttlebug Pumpkin Harvest folder and Pumpkin Spice Combo, Raffia, Nestabilities Labels 1 and Double Ended Tags, brads

Winter Bear

winter-bear-1-diane-zechman.jpgToday is the sneak peek for a super cute set soon to be released at All That Scraps called Winter Bear.  I love these images!  Aren’t they adorable?

I will keep this post short and sweet since I am preparing it ahead of time and baking pies as well!  I hope till you read this, that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

For the main image, I lightly traced one of the oval Nestabilies around it and cut it out by hand, leaving the snow outside of the oval.  I always love the “outside the box” look and I don’t try it often enough!

Be sure to check out the ATS blog for more sneak peeks.

Baby’s First Christmas paper bag album

bfc-album-cover-diane-zechman.jpgMy friend invited me to stamp recently and she said that she needed to make a baby shower gift.  Well, that was just a perfect theme for me too because I am overdue with a gift for a shower that I was unable to attend.  My friend suggested we make a paper bag album and I came up with the “Baby’s First Christmas” theme since it is getting close to the holiday and I had these *cute* Rachelle Anne Miller stamps that I was eager to use.  Rachelle’s images are just adorable and perfect for a baby theme!

I started out by machine stitching the binding on the bags (we used 3 lunch size bags).  I also machine stitched the main image to the layer on the front cover.  All of the other stitches you see are faux stitching with a Micron pen or a gel pen.  This was a fun project to create together because we could share our dies, punches, papers and embellishments!  Of course, we didn’t get it all done in one night but we got everything stamped, punched and laid out.  I did all of the coloring, glueing and finishing touches later.  I decided not to stamp any words on the tags, etc. so that the recipient could personalize it however they want as they add their own photos of this joyful Christmas holiday.

*Just a note- the Rachelle Anne Miller images, along with the Cuttlebug and Nestabilities can be found at All That Scraps.  And right now Christine has the Limited Edition Holiday folders on sale so go check ‘em out!

Here are pics of the pages inside:

Amy’s Wardrobe

amys-wardobe-diane-zechman.jpgHappy Saturday everyone!  Don’t you just love the weekends?  :0)

Today I am sharing a card I made with Amy’s new sets to be released on Monday at All That Scraps….Amy’s Wardrobe and Wardrobe Sentiments.  Let me tell you…when I opened up the set, I was surprised.  That wardrobe is huge!  There are a bunch of images to go with it too.  And the sentiment set complements it nicely.  On the front of this card, I paired the wardrobe with Christine’s rocking horse from her North Pole set because I wanted to make a baby card.  The horse was popped up on dimensionals.  I also stamped the little square on the wall (from Amy’s Build A Holiday set) to make a picture frame but I think it looks more like a window with the bird in it.  LOL.  The birdie is from Jen’s Forest Friends set.

amys-wardobe-open-diane-zechman.jpgUsing an exacto knife, I carefully cut the doors open.  The wardrobe was stamped on double sided paper, so the inside of the doors are already “finished”.  The hanger was stamped onto the cardfront and the onesie was stamped, cut out and pieced on.  The dp from My Mind’s Eye was just perfect for this card.  The striped pattern worked great for wall paper and the other sides gave a great texture.  I’ve had it for a long time but it came in handy when I needed it!

Have a great Saturday!

turkey thanks

turkey-circle-thanks-diane-zechman.jpgThis card was made for the November SCS DD/DDA challenge.  Sharon Harnist (StamperSharon) issued the challenge this month.  Here’s the details she gave us:

Challenge Focus: Create a thankful card or gift, Thanksgiving table placecard or treat holder, or Thanksgiving home decor item.

Required Element: At least one heart on your project.

Restricted Element: Nothing

I found this paper I had stashed away and thought it would be great for a fall card.  Then I paper pieced my turkey cupcake from the same papers.  The only coloring done was to lightly color his head.  I was surprised that I ended up with a card that didn’t use any white cardstock!  The sentiment was stamped and cut from a light colored stripe on the patterned paper as well.  I had this all done & photographed when I realized I forgot the heart…eek!  So the scalloped heart Nestabilities was used to add a corner accent.

You can check out all of the DD/DDA submissions for this challenge here.

embossed acetate box

catw-acetate-box-diane-zechman.jpgToday’s Wednesday challenge at All That Scraps is to use acetate on your project.  I have been wanting to try one of these acetate boxes, so this challenge was the perfect incentive!  While I was browsing SCS a few days ago, I realized that this box was a recent technique challenge as well (TLC182).  You can check it out and get directions here

I filled my box with those little striped soft mints.  I’m not sure what they’re called….I call them “elf pillows”.  LOL.  Whatever they are, they’re addicting!  The little monkey with ornaments is from the C.C. Designs newly released set, Christmas Around the World.  He’s so cute!  I stamped the single ornament twice and layered it on to cover up a smudge I made when I dropped the box while trying to add the faux stitches.  They were an after-thought…next time I’ll stitch before the box is put together!  ;0)

catw-box-closeup-diane-zechman.jpgHere’s a close up pic so you can see the embossed acetate better.  I first ran my piece of acetate through the Cuttlebug Snow Dots folder.  Then I scored the sides and taped it together with the red line tape.  I love the look of embossed acetate!  It adds so much to the finished project.

Go check out the ATS blog for more acetate samples & I hope you play along!

cameo birdie

Published by diane (cookiestamper) under cards, etc.

cameo-bird-diane-zechman.jpgPlease forgive me for the poor photo here.  This card was made for one of the VSN challenges over at Splitcoast and I had to take the photo in poor lighting.  I tried to edit, but I’m not sure it helped…at least the colors are a bit more true.  I would go back and take another pic, but… well, it just aint gonna happen.  LOL.  I have too many other projects that I need to work on.

This challenge was issued by Diane617 and it was to make a card with a “cameo”.  If you would like to play along (even though VSN is over), you can check out the details here.  When I made my “cameo”, I embossed the bird on the oval cut-out, then I swiped the Versamark pad over the edges and embossed those as well.   I already had the leaves & heart diecuts in a baggie with some others so they were a quick addition.  Then I grabbed my Liquid Pearls to finish it off.  I wanted to add some ribbon across the Olive panel but I ran out of time.  (During VSN you are on the honor system to make your card in 45 minutes).  I hope you give it a try…this was fun to see how it would turn out.

stamps-  Inkadinkado Birds Galore, SU! Background Basics, paper-  Elegant Eggplant, Silver, Celery, Olive, Orchid, ink- Versamark, Elegant Eggplant, Olive, accessories- Lilac Pastel embossing powder, Primas, Liquid Pearls, Sizzix Leaves & Primitive Hearts

Digi Angels

digi-angel-1-diane-zechman.jpgJust a quick post to share a card I made with one of Christine’s digital downloads.  This is from her Angel’s Everywhere set that was just released.  I used some glittery paper from DCWV so I needed my angel to sparkle too!  There’s Shimmerz painted on her wings & halo and I also outlined some areas with a glitter pen.  She was also framed with the new Labels 2 Nestabilities.  I added a die-cut fence to make it look like she’s flying over a flower garden.

Have a great weekend!

dry erase message frame

cupcake-messages-diane-zechman.jpgIt’s another Review Preview Friday!  Today All That Scraps is review previewing my Cupcake Occasions set.  So I thought I’d share a project I recently made.

This message center started out as a 4 x 6 photo frame from Walmart.  The glass and insert slides out from the top and can easily be changed for each season or holiday.  I stamped the turkey cupcake on a piece of cardstock and doodled a border across the bottom.  Then I stamped the word “message” along the top and added a diecut flourish.  The felt flower with a brad was attached to the outside of the glass with glue dots.  A dry erase marker is used to write a message and the ink easily wipes off of the glass when you want to remove it.  This is a very quick and easy project!

Would you like to win a gift certificate to the ATS store?  Check out the ATS blog to find out how!

North Pole Noel

north-pole-1-diane-zechman.jpgIs this set not the cutest?  I know, I’ve said that before.  LOL.  But Christine at All That Scraps just keeps pumping out sweet stamps!

With the SCS gathering I attended last weekend, I didn’t have time to play with all of the new sets yet.  So I’m starting to catch up and I picked the North Pole set to make a card.  I originally wanted it to look like Rudolf was peeking through the window at the elf but it may have strayed a bit.  When I colored the elf with my Copics, I added some dots to his hat and apron with a darker marker.  And I was pleasantly surprised that my faux dew drops fit *perfectly* on Rudolf’s nose!  yay!  It is so cute in real life.  :0)
