many magical moments

christmas-verses-1-diane-zechman.jpgTomorrow All That Scraps will be releasing 3 new sets by Amy Rysavy.  I used some images from all 3 sets on this card.  The ornament is from the Build A Holiday set which has some general shapes and accessories to make just about anything you can think of…snowmen, trees, ornaments, etc.  The word Joy is from the Christmas Sentiments set.  And the verse is from the Christmas Card Verses set.  They are perfect to use on the inside of the card but I chose to use it on the front instead.  This set has several nice verses to choose from and I had a hard time deciding which I wanted to use.

There’s only one patterned paper here.  It is double sided and has a very pretty snowflake pattern on one side with a sweet argyle pattern on the other.  I cut the 12×12 sheet up into 4×4 squares so that I could get 9 Christmas cards from the 1 sheet.  Then I stamped the largest circle towards the center on the snowflake side and carefully cut it out, leaving the edges uncut.  (A pair of sharp, pointed, short blade scissors work great)  Then I also punched the photo corner from the center.  By doing this, I didn’t waste another sheet and my white layer with the verse covers up the holes left in the argyle pattern.  The verse was stamped onto the white layer before I glued the ornament in place.  I recently got a few clear blocks with the etched grid lines and they made it a breeze to get the sentiment perfectly aligned!  The top of the ornament was stamped onto silver cardstock and cut out.  Then I drew a silver line at the top with a Sharpie marker for a hanger.  This is a simple card but I think the papers make it a very pretty one.

You are too clever! It took me a minute to figure out what you meant about cutting out the ornament, but I finally got it! Great card!

I love that card! It’s very elegant. I tease a friend of mine because she doesn’t think that blue is a Christmas color but I LOVE blue & silver for any winter holiday. You did a great job too.
