A little birdie

…told me “Hey…you pre-ordered me and still haven’t used me!” LOL. I decided I needed to make this card to quiet those birds. ;) This set is just darling and I need to use it some more! I almost never copy a layout from the SU catalog but the card on page 177 caught my eye. I flipped the design around, changed a few things and this is what I came up with. I started with a piece of 3 3/4 x 11 Soft Sky cardstock for my base. The words were stamped on the bottom but it was still too plain for my liking. So before I attached the Teal layer, I positioned the Cuttlebug Diamonds In The Rough embossing folder over the cardfront so the words would end up in an open spot. The Teal layer measures 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 and the strip of dp is 4 1/4 x 1. I punched part of my 3/4″ circle punch on the edge and wrapped the ribbon around, tying it in a knot. The circle is approximately 2 7/8″ in diameter and was cut with the Coluzzle.
I made this card last night but it is very appropriate for today! It has been a yucky, rainy day here and we’re supposed to get ice. I hope you are having a nicer day where you are! Have a good one!

Penny in polka-dots

Penny is one stylin’ chick in this polka-dotted swimsuit! ;) She is one of my favorites of Anna Wight’s images! I started out wanting to put the words (computer generated) in a circle around her and adding stripes to make it look like a life preserver. But as luck would have it, the colors were not coming together as planned and I messed two of them up while cutting them out. I don’t know why I tried using my Fiskars circle cutter. At that point I gave up and cut layers for the other 2 with the Coluzzle.
