Christmas cheer

I found some time to make a few more simple Christmas cards. Slowly, but surely I will get them done! I used a piece of the Winter Bright double sided papers on the bottom. The top of the paper was scored and folded down so both sides would show and give a nice contrast. When they were all done I added some stickles to give them a bit of sparkle.
I am finally getting in the Christmas spirit. :) What gets you in the spirit? I love the cinnamon & spice scents and listening to Christmas music. Have you seen the movie “Elf”? I just love the girl’s voice when she sings Baby It’s Cold Outside!

anna’s autumn sheep

I *really* need to be working on a birthday card and some more Christmas cards (which I’ve once again fallen behind on). But I couldn’t let November pass by without using this way cute stamp of Anna’s called Autumn Sheep. I just love it! The image was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock, one of my favorite papers, and watercolored. The blanket was colored with markers. I wish I could color like Anna…LOL….but I think it turned out pretty well. The ribbon piece was an RAK from a friend, Gayla (snowcountry311). It was the perfect color and I thought it complimented the card quite nicely. And I actually dug into some Primas and used one here! :)

A Winter Song

I made this card with an image from a new line that AMuse now carries called Elzybells. They have some really sweet images! Jami challenged us to make a card using this particular one called “A Winter Song”. She also wanted us to use the Pretty in Pink color and NO patterned paper. Here is my card and you can see the cards that the other players made here. I stamped the girl and the circle snowflake on Shimmery White cardstock. I love how the paper sparkles! Thanks, Jami for a fun challenge!

Dashing Christmas projects

This weekend I had a few ladies come to make some Christmas projects. I used the SU! Dashing designer series paper on them along with Red and Olive cardstock. The stamps sets I used were Big On Christmas, Punch Pals and The Snowflake Spot. It was a lot of fun! Here are the things that we made. The first pic is of round tin ornaments that I cased from a friend, Kim G. (Kimberly6977) on SCS. Aren’t they the cutest? You can punch holes in the top of the tins with a Crop-A-Dile to run the ribbon through. Then punch some circles in the dp to line the bottom. The images were stamped, colored, cut out and popped up inside with dimensionals. Then just add a bit of glitter and glue the lid on with Crystal Effects. This is such a fun project. These tins have been around a few years but Kim’s use of the Big On Christmas images gave them such a fun look!

The second pic is a glass ball ornament that we rolled strips of paper onto a pencil and dropped inside. Just cut your strips of paper 1/2″ x 6″. Easy peasy!

And the last pic shows the other 3 projects. The Star Box looks so elegant in red with the red & white stripe paper! You can find directions to make the star box here. The can is a decorated fruit can. Just open the bottom of a pop-top can with a safety can opener, eat the fruit and wash it out. Then fill it with candy or small gifts and glue the lid back onto the bottom with Crystal Effects. And the 3rd one pictured is another gum holder. I have the directions and measurements posted here. The only thing I think is missing on these is glitter….LOL. I may have to go back and add some later! ;)

Time Well Spent

I have been busy this week preparing projects for my first class. I am excited about that but a bit nervous as well. I hope the ladies enjoy it! So that is why I haven’t posted in a few days but I will post a pic of the class projects soon.

In the meantime, I received my Time Well Spent set from SU! yesterday. This will be a level 3 hostess set in the upcoming catalog that starts Jan. 1. I had this layout envisioned in my mind and I recently got the Cutie Pie papers so I was anxious to use them. Here is what I ended up with last night. This set will be fun to use….I can’t wait to try the cute heart stamp! The center flower was stamped twice. First it was stamped on white cardstock and the outer edge was watercolored with Bashful ink. Next it was stamped on the Cutie Pie paper, cut out and layered over the first piece. Then the center was watercolored and Stickles glitter glue was applied. The flower was then popped up with dimensionals.

Winter Bright star box

Sorry the photo is a bit washed out on the box! I made Diana Crick’s star box and a 3×3 card with paper from the Winter Bright SS kit. They are fun & easy. I made my box 5 inches tall, though, so I could get 2 from a 12×12 sheet of cardstock. I started with a piece 6 x 10 1/2.The middle gift on the card was popped up with dimensionals. The circles and squares around the box were also stamped, punched & popped up. Some Stickles gave it some added glitz. :)

a flaky Christmas card

I have had this set a long time but barely used it. So I pulled it out and got another 10 Christmas cards done! :) The watercoloring was a bit of a challenge for me. I wanted it to look “sketchy” to match the style of the images but I always tend to color everything in rather than leave some white spaces. I need more practice, I guess. LOL. The mittens were masked and stamped together, then cut out and popped up with pop dots.
