I stamped some images from a friend with the new Wanted set and got to make some cards with them last night. This is a fun set to work with. I used the colors that are showcased with it in the catty. I just need to think of some words to go on the inside of the card with “Wanted” on it. Any ideas? I’d love to hear them! These are 4 1/4″ square cards. The Choc. Chip layer on the first card was run through the Cuttlebug to add a bit of texture and various pieces were sponged with Choc. Chip ink. I added a bit of twine to each as an after-thought…I kinda like it!

stamps- Wanted
cs- Choc. Chip, Cocoa, Rust, Sage, White
ink- Choc. Chip, Cocoa, Rust, Sage, Caramel
access- SU & Marvy scallop and circle punches, twine, pop dots, Cuttlebug Mosaic folder

I spent the day at Hersheypark on Tuesday- fun, fun! Everywhere you look there are groups of kids with identical t-shirts so they don’t get lost. When we were leaving the park, there was one such group of kids with Teal colored shirts and I loved the sight….a sea of Teal! And of course, after seeing chocolate all day, I had to combine the two colors. LOL. So here is my result. (Playing with my friend’s new stamps again….what would I do without such a great friend???)

stamps- Priceless
cs- Choc. Chip, Teal, Caribbean, Glossy White
ink- Choc. Chip, Teal, Caribbean
access.- white gel pen, pop dots
***don’t forget to post on my “cookie crumbs” below- tomorrow I will pick a name for the blog candy!

As soon as I saw the My ABC’s wheel in the new catty, I thought it looked like it would make a great road for the Loads of Love truck.
This is the only new item I have so far…LOL. The My ABC’s wheel was inked with Brilliance white and rolled onto black cs. I cut the grass with some deckle scissors and stamped it with the textured stamp from You Make Me Happy. Then I lightly watercolored over the trees to fill them in a bit. The truck is popped up on pop dots. Very simple card but I thought it turned out cute.

stamps- My ABC’s wheel, Loads of Love & Accessories, You Make Me Happy
cs- Bashful Blue, Garden Green, Cranberry, Black, non SU white
ink- Brilliance White, Garden Green, Black, various colors for watercoloring
Fiskars deckle scissors, tag punches, ribbon, pop dots

Here’s my first challenge with another stamper. Kirstin agreed to play along and you can find her creation here. I do not own this set but my friend let me stamp a few petals to try it out. The challenge was to use the new SU! set Pick a Petal and also the colors Turquoise and Orchid. I didn’t stop at one and made 2 cards….so fun! This set is very cute and caught my eye right away but it also is a bit more challenging to me.

I used a pair of wave scissors on the first card. The second card has Stickles glitter all over the watercolored flower petals and I brushed in a stem by hand.
stamps- Pick a Petal, You Make Me Happy, $1 stamp
cs- Turquoise, Orchid, Night of Navy, white, Sweet designer paper
ink- Black, Navy, Turquoise, Orchid, Artichoke (flower stem on second card)
access.- ribbon, Stickles, oval punches, button, white gel pen

…never play with stamps you want to sell. LOL. Because they may go back to the “keep” pile.

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to keep or sell this set so I made a simple card and decided it should stay for a bit longer. Remember all those decorative scissors that were all the rage a few years ago? Well, for some reason I decided recently to pull them back out again, so you will probably see them pop up once in a while. I used a Fiskars scallop scissors here and poked a hole in each scallop.
Stamps- DD Marvelous Morning Glory, Studio G $1 stamp
ink & cs- Caribbean, Garden Green, Vintage Violet
access.- Fiskars scallop scissors, ribbon

I can’t possibly have a blog with “cookies” in the title and not share some recipes, right?
Look at the yumminess here….can you smell the chocolate? Serve it on a flip flop plate and what can be better?
This is a special cookie in our family that we grew up with. They are called Whoopie Pies….two chocolate cookies with a creme filling. We usually follow the recipe and make the vanilla frosting. But a few months ago I happened to go to a Farmer’s market that had an Amish stand selling these cookies. They had a few varieties and one had a mint frosting. I wanted to try one but a child ahead of me got the last one.
LOL. Well, I finally got around to making some with mint frosting and they are just as yummy!

Whoopie Pies
1 cup Crisco shortening
2 cups sugar
2 egg yolks (save the whites for the filling)
1 cup sour milk (add 2 T. vinegar to regular milk)
1 cup hot water
4 cups flour
1 cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
Mix and drop by large spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 9 min. at 400 degrees. Remove from pan and let cool. Spread filling between 2 cookies.
Filling:
1 cup Crisco
2 tsp. vanilla
4 T. flour
2 T. milk
2 egg whites
1 lb. box confectioner’s sugar (about 4 cups)
Mix well and beat a few minutes.
For the mint frosting, I just substituted mint extract for the vanilla and added a few drops of green food coloring. Enjoy!
